A verb shows action or a state of being.
'Be' verbs indicate a state of being.
(I am, He is, We are)
To imply negative be verbs, add not to them
(I am not, He is not)
Are not and Is not can be shortened to Aren't and Isn't
To ask a question, add verb at beginning of sentence
(Is he?, Are they?)
