Roots
To find the square roots
Step 1: Learn the Squares of 0 to 9
- last digits for the squares of 1 and 9 are both 1.
- last digits for the squares of 2 and 8 are both 4.
- last digits for the squares of 3 and 7 are both 9.
- last digits for the squares of 4 and 6 are both 6.
Step 2:Take the number leave last 2 digits. Now find the square for remaining which is less than the number.
say for 196. ignore 96 so we have 1 and square root of 1 is 1.
Now take the last digit for the given number. In our case it is 6
We may have 2 numbers. So need to choose which one among them.
To find which one lower or higher value.
- Just multiply the previously obtained square root answer with a number which is greater than it by 1.
- so we got 1 before now. 1 * 2 = 2.
- 1 is less than 2 so it is 4. So our answer is 14.
To find the cube roots
Step 1: Learn the Cubes of 0 to 9
- the last digit of the cubes for 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9 end with the original number.
- the last digits for the cubes of 2 and 8 are swapped.
- the last digits for the cubes of 3 and 7 are swapped.
Step 2: Determine the Cube Root For remaining digits Ignore the last three digits of the number.
say for 148877 Leave last three digits(877). it should be 125( 5 * 5 * 5)
Then see the last digit and find out the cube roots from value you have in ur memory.
now for 7 we will use 3.
So answer is 53.
Note: It is applicable for number below 100.
