بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَىْءٌ عَظِيمٌ[1]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu ittaqoo rabbakum inna zalzalata alssaAAati shayon AAatheemun

O hommes! Craignez votre Seigneur. Le séisme [qui précédera] l'Heure est une chose terrible.

O mankind! fear your Lord! for the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible!

يَوْمَ تَرَوْنَهَا تَذْهَلُ كُلُّ مُرْضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرْضَعَتْ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَٰرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَٰرَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللَّهِ شَدِيدٌ[2]

Yawma tarawnaha tathhalu kullu murdiAAatin AAamma ardaAAat watadaAAu kullu thati hamlin hamlaha watara alnnasa sukara wama hum bisukara walakinna AAathaba Allahi shadeedun

Le jour où vous le verrez, toute nourrice oubliera ce qu'elle allaitait, et toute femelle enceinte avortera de ce qu'elle portait. Et tu verras les gens ivres, alors qu'ils ne le sont pas. Mais le châtiment d'Allah est dur.

The Day ye shall see it, every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe, and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed): thou shalt see mankind as in a drunken riot, yet not drunk: but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّبِعُ كُلَّ شَيْطَٰنٍ مَّرِيدٍ[3]

Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wayattabiAAu kulla shaytanin mareedin

Et il y a des gens qui discutent au sujet d'Allah sans aucune science, et qui suivent tout diable rebelle.

And yet among men there are such as dispute about Allah, without knowledge, and follow every evil one obstinate in rebellion!

كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُۥ مَن تَوَلَّاهُ فَأَنَّهُۥ يُضِلُّهُۥ وَيَهْدِيهِ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ[4]

Kutiba AAalayhi annahu man tawallahu faannahu yudilluhu wayahdeehi ila AAathabi alssaAAeeri

Il a été prescrit à l'égard de ce dernier qu'il égarera quiconque le prendra pour maître, et qu'il le guidera vers le châtiment de la fournaise.

About the (Evil One) it is decreed that whoever turns to him for friendship, him will he lead astray, and he will guide him to the Penalty of the Fire.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّنَ الْبَعْثِ فَإِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِن مُّضْغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَغَيْرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّنُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ ۚ وَنُقِرُّ فِى الْأَرْحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَشُدَّكُمْ ۖ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا ۚ وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ هَامِدَةً فَإِذَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا الْمَآءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ وَأَنۢبَتَتْ مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ[5]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee raybin mina albaAAthi fainna khalaqnakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma min AAalaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatin waghayri mukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fee alarhami ma nashao ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflan thumma litablughoo ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffa waminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likayla yaAAlama min baAAdi AAilmin shayan watara alarda hamidatan faitha anzalna AAalayha almaa ihtazzat warabat waanbatat min kulli zawjin baheejin

O hommes! Si vous doutez au sujet de la Résurrection, c'est Nous qui vous avons créés de terre, puis d'une goutte de sperme, puis d'une adhérence puis d'un embryon [normalement] formé aussi bien qu'informe pour vous montrer [Notre Omnipotence] et Nous déposerons dans les matrices ce que Nous voulons jusqu'à un terme fixé. Puis Nous vous en sortirons [à l'état] de bébé, pour qu'ensuite vous atteignez votre maturité. Il en est parmi vous qui meurent [jeunes] tandis que d'autres parviennent au plus vil de l'âge si bien qu'ils ne savent plus rien de ce qu'ils connaissaient auparavant. De même tu vois la terre desséchée: dès que Nous y faisons descendre de l'eau elle remue, se gonfle, et fait pousser toutes sortes de splendides couples de végétaux.

O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs).

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّهُۥ يُحْىِ الْمَوْتَىٰ وَأَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ[6]

Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waannahu yuhyee almawta waannahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Il en est ainsi parce qu'Allah est la vérité; et c'est Lui qui rend la vie aux morts; et c'est Lui qui est Omnipotent.

This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things.

وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٌ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَن فِى الْقُبُورِ[7]

Waanna alssaAAata atiyatun la rayba feeha waanna Allaha yabAAathu man fee alquboori

Et que l'Heure arrivera; pas de doute à son sujet, et qu'Allah ressuscitera ceux qui sont dans les tombeaux.

And verily the Hour will come: there can be no doubt about it, or about (the fact) that Allah will raise up all who are in the graves.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَٰدِلُ فِى اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَٰبٍ مُّنِيرٍ[8]

Wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin

Or, il y a des gens qui discutent au sujet d'Allah sans aucune science, ni guide, ni Livre pour les éclairer,

Yet there is among men such a one as disputes about Allah, without Knowledge, without Guidance, and without a Book of Enlightenment,-

ثَانِىَ عِطْفِهِۦ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ لَهُۥ فِى الدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌ ۖ وَنُذِيقُهُۥ يَوْمَ الْقِيَٰمَةِ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ[9]

Thaniya AAitfihi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahi lahu fee alddunya khizyun wanutheequhu yawma alqiyamati AAathaba alhareeqi

affichant une attitude orgueilleuse pour égarer les gens du sentier d'Allah. A lui l'ignominie ici-bas; et Nous Lui ferons goûter le Jour de la Résurrection, le châtiment de la fournaise.

(Disdainfully) bending his side, in order to lead (men) astray from the Path of Allah: for him there is disgrace in this life, and on the Day of Judgment We shall make him taste the Penalty of burning (Fire).

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاكَ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ[10]

Thalika bima qaddamat yadaka waanna Allaha laysa bithallamin lilAAabeedi

Voilà, pour ce que tes deux mains ont préparé (ici-bas)! Cependant, Allah n'est point injuste envers Ses serviteurs.

(It will be said): "This is because of the deeds which thy hands sent forth, for verily Allah is not unjust to His servants.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ حَرْفٍ ۖ فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُۥ خَيْرٌ اطْمَأَنَّ بِهِۦ ۖ وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ فِتْنَةٌ انقَلَبَ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦ خَسِرَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْءَاخِرَةَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ[11]

Wamina alnnasi man yaAAbudu Allaha AAala harfin fain asabahu khayrun itmaanna bihi wain asabathu fitnatun inqalaba AAala wajhihi khasira alddunya waalakhirata thalika huwa alkhusranu almubeenu

Il en est parmi les gens qui adorent Allah marginalement. S'il leur arrive un bien, ils s'en tranquillisent, et s'il leur arrive une épreuve, ils détournent leur visage, perdant ainsi (le bien) de l'ici-bas et de l'au-delà. Telle est la perte évidente!

There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were, on the verge: if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces: they lose both this world and the Hereafter: that is loss for all to see!

يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُۥ وَمَا لَا يَنفَعُهُۥ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلَٰلُ الْبَعِيدُ[12]

YadAAoo min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhu wama la yanfaAAuhu thalika huwa alddalalu albaAAeedu

Ils invoquent en dehors d'Allah, ce qui ne peut ni leur nuire ni leur profiter. Tel est l'égarement profond!

They call on such deities, besides Allah, as can neither hurt nor profit them: that is straying far indeed (from the Way)!

يَدْعُوا۟ لَمَن ضَرُّهُۥٓ أَقْرَبُ مِن نَّفْعِهِۦ ۚ لَبِئْسَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَلَبِئْسَ الْعَشِيرُ[13]

YadAAoo laman darruhu aqrabu min nafAAihi labisa almawla walabisa alAAasheeru

Ils invoquent ce dont le mal est certainement plus proche que l'utilité. Quel mauvais allié, et quel mauvais compagnon!

(Perhaps) they call on one whose hurt is nearer than his profit: evil, indeed, is the patron, and evil the companion (or help)!

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَٰرُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يُرِيدُ[14]

Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu inna Allaha yafAAalu ma yureedu

Ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres, Allah les fait entrer aux Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux, car Allah fait certes ce qu'Il veut.

Verily Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens, beneath which rivers flow: for Allah carries out all that He plans.

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ اللَّهُ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَالْءَاخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى السَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لْيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُ[15]

Man kana yathunnu an lan yansurahu Allahu fee alddunya waalakhirati falyamdud bisababin ila alssamai thumma liyaqtaAA falyanthur hal yuthhibanna kayduhu ma yagheethu

Celui qui pense qu'Allah ne le secourra pas dans l'ici-bas et dans l'au-delà qu'il tende une corde jusqu'au ciel, puis qu'il la coupe, et qu'il voie si sa ruse va faire disparaître ce qui l'enrage.

If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages (him)!

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِى مَن يُرِيدُ[16]

Wakathalika anzalnahu ayatin bayyinatin waanna Allaha yahdee man yureedu

C'est ainsi que Nous le fîmes descendre (Le Coran) en versets clairs et qu'Allah guide qui Il veut.

Thus have We sent down Clear Signs; and verily Allah doth guide whom He will!

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَالَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَالصَّٰبِـِٔينَ وَالنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَالْمَجُوسَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَٰمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ[17]

Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalssabieena waalnnasara waalmajoosa waallatheena ashrakoo inna Allaha yafsilu baynahum yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin shaheedun

Certes, ceux qui ont cru, les Juifs, les Sabéens [les adorateurs des étoiles], les Nazaréens, les Mages et ceux qui donnent à Allah des associés, Allah tranchera entre eux le jour du Jugement, car Allah est certes témoin de toute chose.

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment: for Allah is witness of all things.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَسْجُدُ لَهُۥ مَن فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى الْأَرْضِ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ وَالنُّجُومُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَآبُّ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنَ النَّاسِ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِ الْعَذَابُ ۗ وَمَن يُهِنِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن مُّكْرِمٍ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۩[18]

Alam tara anna Allaha yasjudu lahu man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi waalshshamsu waalqamaru waalnnujoomu waaljibalu waalshshajaru waalddawabbu wakatheerun mina alnnasi wakatheerun haqqa AAalayhi alAAathabu waman yuhini Allahu fama lahu min mukrimin inna Allaha yafAAalu ma yashao

N'as-tu pas vu que c'est devant Allah que se prosternent tous ceux qui sont dans les cieux et tous ceux qui sont sur la terre, le soleil, la lune, les étoiles, les montagnes, les arbres, les animaux, ainsi que beaucoup de gens? Il y en a aussi beaucoup qui méritent le châtiment. Et quiconque Allah avilit n'a personne pour l'honorer, car Allah fait ce qu'il veut.

Seest thou not that to Allah bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? But a great number are (also) such as are fit for Punishment: and such as Allah shall disgrace,- None can raise to honour: for Allah carries out all that He wills.

۞ هَٰذَانِ خَصْمَانِ اخْتَصَمُوا۟ فِى رَبِّهِمْ ۖ فَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قُطِّعَتْ لَهُمْ ثِيَابٌ مِّن نَّارٍ يُصَبُّ مِن فَوْقِ رُءُوسِهِمُ الْحَمِيمُ[19]

Hathani khasmani ikhtasamoo fee rabbihim faallatheena kafaroo quttiAAat lahum thiyabun min narin yusabbu min fawqi ruoosihimu alhameemu

Voici deux clans adverses qui disputaient au sujet de leur Seigneur. A ceux qui ne croient pas, on taillera des vêtements de feu, tandis que sur leurs têtes on versera de l'eau bouillante,

These two antagonists dispute with each other about their Lord: But those who deny (their Lord),- for them will be cut out a garment of Fire: over their heads will be poured out boiling water.

يُصْهَرُ بِهِۦ مَا فِى بُطُونِهِمْ وَالْجُلُودُ[20]

Yusharu bihi ma fee butoonihim waaljuloodu

qui fera fondre ce qui est dans leurs ventres de même que leurs peaux.

With it will be scalded what is within their bodies, as well as (their) skins.

وَلَهُم مَّقَٰمِعُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ[21]

Walahum maqamiAAu min hadeedin

Et il y aura pour eux des maillets de fer.

In addition there will be maces of iron (to punish) them.

كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓا۟ أَن يَخْرُجُوا۟ مِنْهَا مِنْ غَمٍّ أُعِيدُوا۟ فِيهَا وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ[22]

Kullama aradoo an yakhrujoo minha min ghammin oAAeedoo feeha wathooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi

Toutes les fois qu'ils voudront en sortir (pour échapper) à la détresse, on les y remettra et (on leur dira): «Goûtez au châtiment de la Fournaise.

Every time they wish to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be forced back therein, and (it will be said), "Taste ye the Penalty of Burning!"

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ[23]

Inna Allaha yudkhilu allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin waluluan walibasuhum feeha hareerun

Certes Allah introduit ceux qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres aux Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux. Là, ils seront parés de bracelets d'or, et aussi de perles; et leurs vêtements y seront de soie.

Allah will admit those who believe and work righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow: they shall be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.

وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَى الطَّيِّبِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَهُدُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ الْحَمِيدِ[24]

Wahudoo ila alttayyibi mina alqawli wahudoo ila sirati alhameedi

Ils ont été guidés vers la bonne parole et ils ont été guidés vers le chemin Du Digne des louanges.

For they have been guided (in this life) to the purest of speeches; they have been guided to the Path of Him Who is Worthy of (all) Praise.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ الَّذِى جَعَلْنَٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ سَوَآءً الْعَٰكِفُ فِيهِ وَالْبَادِ ۚ وَمَن يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍۭ بِظُلْمٍ نُّذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ[25]

Inna allatheena kafaroo wayasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi waalmasjidi alharami allathee jaAAalnahu lilnnasi sawaan alAAakifu feehi waalbadi waman yurid feehi biilhadin bithulmin nuthiqhu min AAathabin aleemin

Mais ceux qui mécroient et qui obstruent le sentier d'Allah et celui de la Mosquée sacrée, que Nous avons établie pour les gens: aussi bien les résidents que ceux de passage... Quiconque cherche à y commettre un sacrilège injustement, Nous lui ferons goûter un châtiment douloureux,

As to those who have rejected (Allah), and would keep back (men) from the Way of Allah, and from the Sacred Mosque, which We have made (open) to (all) men - equal is the dweller there and the visitor from the country - and any whose purpose therein is profanity or wrong-doing - them will We cause to taste of a most Grievous Penalty.

وَإِذْ بَوَّأْنَا لِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ مَكَانَ الْبَيْتِ أَن لَّا تُشْرِكْ بِى شَيْـًٔا وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَالْقَآئِمِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ[26]

Waith bawwana liibraheema makana albayti an la tushrik bee shayan watahhir baytiya lilttaifeena waalqaimeena waalrrukkaAAi alssujoodi

Et quand Nous indiquâmes pour Abraham le lieu de la Maison (La Kaaba) [en lui disant]: «Ne M'associe rien; et purifie Ma Maison pour ceux qui tournent autour, pour ceux qui s'y tiennent debout et pour ceux qui s'y inclinent et se prosternent».

Behold! We gave the site, to Abraham, of the (Sacred) House, (saying): "Associate not anything (in worship) with Me; and sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or stand up, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer).

وَأَذِّن فِى النَّاسِ بِالْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍ[27]

Waaththin fee alnnasi bialhajji yatooka rijalan waAAala kulli damirin yateena min kulli fajjin AAameeqin

Et fais aux gens une annonce pour le Hajj. Ils viendront vers toi, à pied, et aussi sur toute monture, venant de tout chemin éloigné,

"And proclaim the Pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways;

لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ مَنَٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَٰمِ ۖ فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ الْبَآئِسَ الْفَقِيرَ[28]

Liyashhadoo manafiAAa lahum wayathkuroo isma Allahi fee ayyamin maAAloomatin AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati alanAAami fakuloo minha waatAAimoo albaisa alfaqeera

pour participer aux avantages qui leur ont été accordés et pour invoquer le nom d'Allah aux jours fixés, sur la bête de cheptel qu'Il leur a attribuée, «Mangez-en vous-mêmes et faites-en manger le besogneux misérable.

"That they may witness the benefits (provided) for them, and celebrate the name of Allah, through the Days appointed, over the cattle which He has provided for them (for sacrifice): then eat ye thereof and feed the distressed ones in want.

ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا۟ تَفَثَهُمْ وَلْيُوفُوا۟ نُذُورَهُمْ وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا۟ بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ[29]

Thumma lyaqdoo tafathahum walyoofoo nuthoorahum walyattawwafoo bialbayti alAAateeqi

Puis qu'ils mettent fin à leurs interdits (qu'ils nettoient leurs corps), qu'ils remplissent leurs vœux, et qu'ils fassent les circuits autour de l'Antique Maison».

"Then let them complete the rites prescribed for them, perform their vows, and (again) circumambulate the Ancient House."

ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ حُرُمَٰتِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ ۗ وَأُحِلَّتْ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَٰمُ إِلَّا مَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَاجْتَنِبُوا۟ الرِّجْسَ مِنَ الْأَوْثَٰنِ وَاجْتَنِبُوا۟ قَوْلَ الزُّورِ[30]

Thalika waman yuAAaththim hurumati Allahi fahuwa khayrun lahu AAinda rabbihi waohillat lakumu alanAAamu illa ma yutla AAalaykum faijtaniboo alrrijsa mina alawthani waijtaniboo qawla alzzoori

Voilà [ce qui doit être observé] et quiconque prend en haute considération les limites sacrées d'Allah cela lui sera meilleur auprès de son Seigneur. Le bétail, sauf ce qu'on vous a cité, vous a été rendu licite. Abstenez-vous de la souillure des idoles et abstenez-vous des paroles mensongères.

Such (is the Pilgrimage): whoever honours the sacred rites of Allah, for him it is good in the Sight of his Lord. Lawful to you (for food in Pilgrimage) are cattle, except those mentioned to you (as exception): but shun the abomination of idols, and shun the word that is false,-

حُنَفَآءَ لِلَّهِ غَيْرَ مُشْرِكِينَ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ فَتَخْطَفُهُ الطَّيْرُ أَوْ تَهْوِى بِهِ الرِّيحُ فِى مَكَانٍ سَحِيقٍ[31]

Hunafaa lillahi ghayra mushrikeena bihi waman yushrik biAllahi fakaannama kharra mina alssamai fatakhtafuhu alttayru aw tahwee bihi alrreehu fee makanin saheeqin

(Soyez) exclusivement [acquis à la religion] d'Allah ne Lui associez rien; car quiconque associe à Allah, c'est comme s'il tombait du haut du ciel et que les oiseaux le happaient, ou que le vent le précipitait dans un abîme très profond.

Being true in faith to Allah, and never assigning partners to Him: if anyone assigns partners to Allah, is as if he had fallen from heaven and been snatched up by birds, or the wind had swooped (like a bird on its prey) and thrown him into a far-distant place.

ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَٰٓئِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ[32]

Thalika waman yuAAaththim shaAAaira Allahi fainnaha min taqwa alquloobi

Voilà [ce qui est prescrit]. Et quiconque exalte les injonctions sacrées d'Allah, s'inspire en effet de la piété des cœurs.

Such (is his state): and whoever holds in honour the symbols of Allah, (in the sacrifice of animals), such (honour) should come truly from piety of heart.

لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ مَحِلُّهَآ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ[33]

Lakum feeha manafiAAu ila ajalin musamman thumma mahilluha ila albayti alAAateeqi

[De ces bêtes-là] vous tirez des avantages jusqu'à un terme fixé; puis son lieu d'immolation est auprès de l'Antique Maison.

In them ye have benefits for a term appointed: in the end their place of sacrifice is near the Ancient House.

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا لِّيَذْكُرُوا۟ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَٰمِ ۗ فَإِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُخْبِتِينَ[34]

Walikulli ommatin jaAAalna mansakan liyathkuroo isma Allahi AAala ma razaqahum min baheemati alanAAami failahukum ilahun wahidun falahu aslimoo wabashshiri almukhbiteena

A chaque communauté, Nous avons assigné un rite sacrificiel, afin qu'ils prononcent le nom d'Allah sur la bête de cheptel qu'Il leur a attribuée. Votre Dieu est certes un Dieu unique. Soumettez-vous donc à Lui. Et fais bonne annonce à ceux qui s'humilient,

To every people did We appoint rites (of sacrifice), that they might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food). But your god is One God: submit then your wills to Him (in Islam): and give thou the good news to those who humble themselves,-

الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَالصَّٰبِرِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَصَابَهُمْ وَالْمُقِيمِى الصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ[35]

Allatheena itha thukira Allahu wajilat quloobuhum waalssabireena AAala ma asabahum waalmuqeemee alssalati wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona

ceux dont les cœurs frémissent quand le nom d'Allah est mentionné, ceux qui endurent ce qui les atteint et ceux qui accomplissent la Salât et dépensent de ce que Nous leur avons attribué.

To those whose hearts when Allah is mentioned, are filled with fear, who show patient perseverance over their afflictions, keep up regular prayer, and spend (in charity) out of what We have bestowed upon them.

وَالْبُدْنَ جَعَلْنَٰهَا لَكُم مِّن شَعَٰٓئِرِ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ ۖ فَاذْكُرُوا۟ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَآفَّ ۖ فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا وَأَطْعِمُوا۟ الْقَانِعَ وَالْمُعْتَرَّ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرْنَٰهَا لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ[36]

Waalbudna jaAAalnaha lakum min shaAAairi Allahi lakum feeha khayrun faothkuroo isma Allahi AAalayha sawaffa faitha wajabat junoobuha fakuloo minha waatAAimoo alqaniAAa waalmuAAtarra kathalika sakhkharnaha lakum laAAallakum tashkuroona

Nous vous avons désigné les chameaux (et les vaches) bien portants pour certains rites établis par Allah. Il y a en eux pour vous un bien. Prononcez donc sur eux le nom d'Allah, quand ils ont eu la patte attachée, [prêts à être immolés]. Puis, lorsqu'ils gisent sur le flanc, mangez-en, et nourrissez-en le besogneux discret et le mendiant. Ainsi Nous vous les avons assujettis afin que vous soyez reconnaissants.

The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah: in them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice): when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility: thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful.

لَن يَنَالَ اللَّهَ لُحُومُهَا وَلَا دِمَآؤُهَا وَلَٰكِن يَنَالُهُ التَّقْوَىٰ مِنكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ سَخَّرَهَا لَكُمْ لِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُحْسِنِينَ[37]

Lan yanala Allaha luhoomuha wala dimaoha walakin yanaluhu alttaqwa minkum kathalika sakhkharaha lakum litukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum wabashshiri almuhsineena

Ni leurs chairs ni leurs sangs n'atteindront Allah, mais ce qui L'atteint de votre part c'est la piété. Ainsi vous les a-t-Il assujettis afin que vous proclamiez la grandeur d'Allah, pour vous avoir mis sur le droit chemin. Et annonce la bonne nouvelle aux bienfaisants.

It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah: it is your piety that reaches Him: He has thus made them subject to you, that ye may glorify Allah for His Guidance to you and proclaim the good news to all who do right.

۞ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُدَٰفِعُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ خَوَّانٍ كَفُورٍ[38]

Inna Allaha yudafiAAu AAani allatheena amanoo inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla khawwanin kafoorin

Allah prend la défense de ceux qui croient. Allah n'aime aucun traître ingrat.

Verily Allah will defend (from ill) those who believe: verily, Allah loveth not any that is a traitor to faith, or show ingratitude.

أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ظُلِمُوا۟ ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصْرِهِمْ لَقَدِيرٌ[39]

Othina lillatheena yuqataloona biannahum thulimoo wainna Allaha AAala nasrihim laqadeerun

Autorisation est donnée à ceux qui sont attaqués (de se défendre) - parce que vraiment ils sont lésés; et Allah est certes Capable de les secourir -

To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight), because they are wronged;- and verily, Allah is most powerful for their aid;-

الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ إِلَّآ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ۗ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّهُدِّمَتْ صَوَٰمِعُ وَبِيَعٌ وَصَلَوَٰتٌ وَمَسَٰجِدُ يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا اسْمُ اللَّهِ كَثِيرًا ۗ وَلَيَنصُرَنَّ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥٓ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ[40]

Allatheena okhrijoo min diyarihim bighayri haqqin illa an yaqooloo rabbuna Allahu walawla dafAAu Allahi alnnasa baAAdahum bibaAAdin lahuddimat sawamiAAu wabiyaAAun wasalawatun wamasajidu yuthkaru feeha ismu Allahi katheeran walayansuranna Allahu man yansuruhu inna Allaha laqawiyyun AAazeezun

ceux qui ont été expulsés de leurs demeures, - contre toute justice, simplement parce qu'ils disaient: «Allah est notre Seigneur». - Si Allah ne repoussait pas les gens les uns par les autres, les ermitages seraient démolis, ainsi que les églises, les synagogues et les mosquées où le nom d'Allah est beaucoup invoqué. Allah soutient, certes, ceux qui soutiennent (Sa Religion). Allah est assurément Fort et Puissant,

(They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is Allah". Did not Allah check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).

الَّذِينَ إِن مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِى الْأَرْضِ أَقَامُوا۟ الصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ الزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَمَرُوا۟ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا۟ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَٰقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ[41]

Allatheena in makkannahum fee alardi aqamoo alssalata waatawoo alzzakata waamaroo bialmaAAroofi wanahaw AAani almunkari walillahi AAaqibatu alomoori

ceux qui, si Nous leur donnons la puissance sur terre, accomplissent la Salât, acquittent la Zakât, ordonnent le convenable et interdisent le blâmable. Cependant, l'issue finale de toute chose appartient à Allah.

(They are) those who, if We establish them in the land, establish regular prayer and give regular charity, enjoin the right and forbid wrong: with Allah rests the end (and decision) of (all) affairs.

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ[42]

Wain yukaththibooka faqad kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waAAadun wathamoodu

Et s'ils te traitent de menteur, [sache que] le peuple de Noé, les 'Aad, les Tamûd avant eux, ont aussi crié au mensonge (à l'égard de leurs messagers),

If they treat thy (mission) as false, so did the peoples before them (with their prophets),- the People of Noah, and 'Ad and Thamud;

وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ[43]

Waqawmu ibraheema waqawmu lootin

de même que le peuple d'Abraham, le peuple de Lot.

Those of Abraham and Lut;

وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَ ۖ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَىٰ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ[44]

Waashabu madyana wakuththiba moosa faamlaytu lilkafireena thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana nakeeri

et les gens de Madyan. Et Moïse fut traité de menteur. Puis, J'ai donné un répit aux mécréants; ensuite Je les ai saisis. Et quelle fut Ma réprobation!

And the Companions of the Madyan People; and Moses was rejected (in the same way). But I granted respite to the Unbelievers, and (only) after that did I punish them: but how (terrible) was my rejection (of them)!

فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِىَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَّشِيدٍ[45]

Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknaha wahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshiha wabirin muAAattalatin waqasrin masheedin

Que de cités, donc, avons-Nous fait périr, parce qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies. Elles sont réduites à des toits écroulés: Que de puits désertés! Que de palais édifiés (et désertés aussi)!

How many populations have We destroyed, which were given to wrong-doing? They tumbled down on their roofs. And how many wells are lying idle and neglected, and castles lofty and well-built?

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَآ أَوْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَٰرُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِى فِى الصُّدُورِ[46]

Afalam yaseeroo fee alardi fatakoona lahum quloobun yaAAqiloona biha aw athanun yasmaAAoona biha fainnaha la taAAma alabsaru walakin taAAma alquloobu allatee fee alssudoori

Que ne voyagent-ils sur la terre afin d'avoir des cœurs pour comprendre, et des oreilles pour entendre? Car ce ne sont pas les yeux qui s'aveuglent, mais, ce sont les cœurs dans les poitrines qui s'aveuglent.

Do they not travel through the land, so that their hearts (and minds) may thus learn wisdom and their ears may thus learn to hear? Truly it is not their eyes that are blind, but their hearts which are in their breasts.

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ ۚ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ[47]

WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wainna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

Et ils te demandent de hâter [l'arrivée] du châtiment. Jamais Allah ne manquera à Sa promesse. Cependant, un jour auprès de ton Seigneur, équivaut à mille ans de ce que vous comptez.

Yet they ask thee to hasten on the Punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَمْلَيْتُ لَهَا وَهِىَ ظَالِمَةٌ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهَا وَإِلَىَّ الْمَصِيرُ[48]

Wakaayyin min qaryatin amlaytu laha wahiya thalimatun thumma akhathtuha wailayya almaseeru

A combien de cités n'ai-Je pas donné répit alors qu'elles commettaient des tyrannies? Ensuite, Je les ais saisies. Vers Moi est le devenir.

And to how many populations did I give respite, which were given to wrong-doing? in the end I punished them. To me is the destination (of all).

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ[49]

Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innama ana lakum natheerun mubeenun

Dis: «O hommes! Je ne suis pour vous, en vérité, qu'un avertisseur explicite».

Say: "O men! I am (sent) to you only to give a Clear Warning:

فَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ[50]

Faallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum maghfiratun warizqun kareemun

Ceux donc qui croient et font de bonnes œuvres auront pardon et faveurs généreuses,

"Those who believe and work righteousness, for them is forgiveness and a sustenance most generous.

وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا۟ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ الْجَحِيمِ[51]

Waallatheena saAAaw fee ayatina muAAajizeena olaika ashabu aljaheemi

tandis que ceux qui s'efforcent à échapper (au châtiment mentionné dans) Nos versets, ceux-là sont les gens de l'Enfer.

"But those who strive against Our Signs, to frustrate them,- they will be Companions of the Fire."

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ وَلَا نَبِىٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلْقَى الشَّيْطَٰنُ فِىٓ أُمْنِيَّتِهِۦ فَيَنسَخُ اللَّهُ مَا يُلْقِى الشَّيْطَٰنُ ثُمَّ يُحْكِمُ اللَّهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ[52]

Wama arsalna min qablika min rasoolin wala nabiyyin illa itha tamanna alqa alshshaytanu fee omniyyatihi fayansakhu Allahu ma yulqee alshshaytanu thumma yuhkimu Allahu ayatihi waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

Nous n'avons envoyé, avant toi, ni Messager ni prophète qui n'ait récité (ce qui lui a été révélé) sans que le Diable n'ait essayé d'intervenir [pour semer le doute dans le cœur des gens au sujet] de sa récitation. Allah abroge ce que le Diable suggère, et Allah renforce Ses versets. Allah est Omniscient et Sage.

Never did We send a messenger or a prophet before thee, but, when he framed a desire, Satan threw some (vanity) into his desire: but Allah will cancel anything (vain) that Satan throws in, and Allah will confirm (and establish) His Signs: for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom:

لِّيَجْعَلَ مَا يُلْقِى الشَّيْطَٰنُ فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْقَاسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَإِنَّ الظَّٰلِمِينَ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍ[53]

LiyajAAala ma yulqee alshshaytanu fitnatan lillatheena fee quloobihim maradun waalqasiyati quloobuhum wainna alththalimeena lafee shiqaqin baAAeedin

Afin de faire, de ce que jette le Diable, une tentation pour ceux qui ont une maladie au cœur et ceux qui ont le cœur dur... Les injustes sont certes dans un schisme profond.

That He may make the suggestions thrown in by Satan, but a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease and who are hardened of heart: verily the wrong-doers are in a schism far (from the Truth):

وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ الْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُۥ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ[54]

WaliyaAAlama allatheena ootoo alAAilma annahu alhaqqu min rabbika fayuminoo bihi fatukhbita lahu quloobuhum wainna Allaha lahadi allatheena amanoo ila siratin mustaqeemin

Et afin que ceux à qui le savoir a été donné sachent que (le Coran) est en effet, la Vérité venant de ton Seigneur, qu'ils y croient alors, et que leurs cœurs s'y soumettent en toute humilité. Allah guide certes vers le droit chemin ceux qui croient.

And that those on whom knowledge has been bestowed may learn that the (Qur'an) is the Truth from thy Lord, and that they may believe therein, and their hearts may be made humbly (open) to it: for verily Allah is the Guide of those who believe, to the Straight Way.

وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ[55]

Wala yazalu allatheena kafaroo fee miryatin minhu hatta tatiyahumu alssaAAatu baghtatan aw yatiyahum AAathabu yawmin AAaqeemin

Et ceux qui mécroient ne cesseront d'être en doute à son sujet, jusqu'à ce que l'Heure les surprenne à l'improviste ou que les atteigne le châtiment d'un jour terrifiant.

Those who reject Faith will not cease to be in doubt concerning (Revelation) until the Hour (of Judgment) comes suddenly upon them, or there comes to them the Penalty of a Day of Disaster.

الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فِى جَنَّٰتِ النَّعِيمِ[56]

Almulku yawmaithin lillahi yahkumu baynahum faallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fee jannati alnnaAAeemi

La souveraineté ce jour-là appartiendra à Allah qui jugera parmi eux. Ceux qui auront cru et fait de bonnes œuvres seront dans les Jardins du délice,

On that Day of Dominion will be that of Allah: He will judge between them: so those who believe and work righteous deeds will be in Gardens of Delight.

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ[57]

Waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina faolaika lahum AAathabun muheenun

et quant aux infidèles qui auront traité Nos révélations de mensonges, ils auront un châtiment avilissant!

And for those who reject Faith and deny our Signs, there will be a humiliating Punishment.

وَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قُتِلُوٓا۟ أَوْ مَاتُوا۟ لَيَرْزُقَنَّهُمُ اللَّهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّٰزِقِينَ[58]

Waallatheena hajaroo fee sabeeli Allahi thumma qutiloo aw matoo layarzuqannahumu Allahu rizqan hasanan wainna Allaha lahuwa khayru alrraziqeena

Ceux qui émigrent dans le sentier d'Allah et qui sont tués ou meurent, Allah leur accordera certes une belle récompense, car Allah est le meilleur des donateurs.

Those who leave their homes in the cause of Allah, and are then slain or die,- On them will Allah bestow verily a goodly Provision: Truly Allah is He Who bestows the best provision.

لَيُدْخِلَنَّهُم مُّدْخَلًا يَرْضَوْنَهُۥ ۗ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ[59]

Layudkhilannahum mudkhalan yardawnahu wainna Allaha laAAaleemun haleemun

Il les fera, certes, entrer en un lieu qu'ils agréeront, et Allah est certes Omniscient et Indulgent.

Verily He will admit them to a place with which they shall be well pleased: for Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing.

۞ ذَٰلِكَ وَمَنْ عَاقَبَ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبَ بِهِۦ ثُمَّ بُغِىَ عَلَيْهِ لَيَنصُرَنَّهُ اللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَعَفُوٌّ غَفُورٌ[60]

Thalika waman AAaqaba bimithli ma AAooqiba bihi thumma bughiya AAalayhi layansurannahu Allahu inna Allaha laAAafuwwun ghafoorun

Ainsi en est-il. Quiconque châtie de la même façon dont il a été châtié, et qu'ensuite il est victime d'un nouvel outrage, Allah l'aidera, car Allah est certainement Absoluteur et Pardonneur.

That (is so). And if one has retaliated to no greater extent than the injury he received, and is again set upon inordinately, Allah will help him: for Allah is One that blots out (sins) and forgives (again and again).

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِى النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِى الَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ[61]

Thalika bianna Allaha yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli waanna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun

C'est ainsi qu'Allah fait pénétrer la nuit dans le jour, et fait pénétrer le jour dans la nuit. Allah est, certes, Audient et Clairvoyant.

That is because Allah merges night into day, and He merges day into night, and verily it is Allah Who hears and sees (all things).

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ هُوَ الْبَٰطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْكَبِيرُ[62]

Thalika bianna Allaha huwa alhaqqu waanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi huwa albatilu waanna Allaha huwa alAAaliyyu alkabeeru

C'est ainsi qu'Allah est Lui le Vrai, alors que ce qu'ils invoquent en dehors de Lui est le faux; c'est Allah qui est le Sublime, le Grand.

That is because Allah - He is the Reality; and those besides Him whom they invoke,- they are but vain Falsehood: verily Allah is He, Most High, Most Great.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَتُصْبِحُ الْأَرْضُ مُخْضَرَّةً ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ[63]

Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan fatusbihu alardu mukhdarratan inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun

N'as-tu pas vu qu'Allah fait descendre l'eau du ciel, et la terre devient alors verte? Allah est Plein de bonté et Parfaitement Connaisseur.

Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and forthwith the earth becomes clothed with green? for Allah is He Who understands the finest mysteries, and is well-acquainted (with them).

لَّهُۥ مَا فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْغَنِىُّ الْحَمِيدُ[64]

Lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi wainna Allaha lahuwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

A Lui appartient ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre. Allah est le seul qui se suffit à Lui-Même et qui est Le Digne de louange!

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: for verily Allah,- He is free of all wants, Worthy of all Praise.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِى الْأَرْضِ وَالْفُلْكَ تَجْرِى فِى الْبَحْرِ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَيُمْسِكُ السَّمَآءَ أَن تَقَعَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ[65]

Alam tara anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alardi waalfulka tajree fee albahri biamrihi wayumsiku alssamaa an taqaAAa AAala alardi illa biithnihi inna Allaha bialnnasi laraoofun raheemun

N'as-tu pas vu qu'Allah vous a soumis tout ce qui est sur la terre ainsi que le vaisseau qui vogue sur la mer par Son ordre? Il retient le ciel de tomber sur la terre, sauf quand Il le permettra. Car Allah est Plein de bonté et de miséricorde envers les hommes.

Seest thou not that Allah has made subject to you (men) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His Command? He withholds the sky (rain) from failing on the earth except by His leave: for Allah is Most Kind and Most Merciful to man.

وَهُوَ الَّذِىٓ أَحْيَاكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ الْإِنسَٰنَ لَكَفُورٌ[66]

Wahuwa allathee ahyakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum inna alinsana lakafoorun

C'est Lui qui vous donne la vie puis vous donne la mort, puis vous fait revivre. Vraiment l'homme est très ingrat!

It is He Who gave you life, will cause you to die, and will again give you life: Truly man is a most ungrateful creature!

لِّكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ جَعَلْنَا مَنسَكًا هُمْ نَاسِكُوهُ ۖ فَلَا يُنَٰزِعُنَّكَ فِى الْأَمْرِ ۚ وَادْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ هُدًى مُّسْتَقِيمٍ[67]

Likulli ommatin jaAAalna mansakan hum nasikoohu fala yunaziAAunnaka fee alamri waodAAu ila rabbika innaka laAAala hudan mustaqeemin

A chaque communauté, Nous avons assigné un culte à suivre. Qu'ils ne disputent donc point avec toi l'ordre reçu! Et appelle à ton Seigneur. Tu es certes sur une voie droite.

To every People have We appointed rites and ceremonies which they must follow: let them not then dispute with thee on the matter, but do thou invite (them) to thy Lord: for thou art assuredly on the Right Way.

وَإِن جَٰدَلُوكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ[68]

Wain jadalooka faquli Allahu aAAlamu bima taAAmaloona

Et s'ils discutent avec toi, alors dis: «C'est Allah qui connaît mieux ce que vous faites.

If they do wrangle with thee, say, "Allah knows best what it is ye are doing."

اللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ[69]

Allahu yahkumu baynakum yawma alqiyamati feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

Allah jugera entre vous, au Jour de la Résurrection, ce en quoi vous divergez».

"Allah will judge between you on the Day of Judgment concerning the matters in which ye differ."

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمَآءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ فِى كِتَٰبٍ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ[70]

Alam taAAlam anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee alssamai waalardi inna thalika fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Ne sais-tu pas qu'Allah sait ce qu'il y a dans le ciel et sur la terre? Tout cela est dans un Livre, et cela est pour Allah bien facile.

Knowest thou not that Allah knows all that is in heaven and on earth? Indeed it is all in a Record, and that is easy for Allah.

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَا لَيْسَ لَهُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۗ وَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ[71]

WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan wama laysa lahum bihi AAilmun wama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Et ils adorent en dehors d'Allah, ce en quoi Il n'a fait descendre aucune preuve et ce dont ils n'ont aucune connaissance. Et il n'y aura pas de protecteur pour les injustes.

Yet they worship, besides Allah, things for which no authority has been sent down to them, and of which they have (really) no knowledge: for those that do wrong there is no helper.

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍ تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ الْمُنكَرَ ۖ يَكَادُونَ يَسْطُونَ بِالَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا ۗ قُلْ أَفَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرٍّ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمُ ۗ النَّارُ وَعَدَهَا اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ[72]

Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin taAArifu fee wujoohi allatheena kafaroo almunkara yakadoona yastoona biallatheena yatloona AAalayhim ayatina qul afaonabbiokum bisharrin min thalikum alnnaru waAAadaha Allahu allatheena kafaroo wabisa almaseeru

Et quand on leur récite Nos versets bien clairs, tu discerneras la réprobation sur les visages de ceux qui ont mécru. Peu s'en faut qu'ils ne se jettent sur ceux qui leur récitent Nos versets. Dis: «Vous informerai-je de quelque chose de plus terrible? - Le Feu: Allah l'a promis à ceux qui ont mécru. Et quel triste devenir!»

When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou wilt notice a denial on the faces of the Unbelievers! they nearly attack with violence those who rehearse Our Signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something (far) worse than these Signs? It is the Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it to the Unbelievers! and evil is that destination!"

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ضُرِبَ مَثَلٌ فَاسْتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ لَن يَخْلُقُوا۟ ذُبَابًا وَلَوِ اجْتَمَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ ۖ وَإِن يَسْلُبْهُمُ الذُّبَابُ شَيْـًٔا لَّا يَسْتَنقِذُوهُ مِنْهُ ۚ ضَعُفَ الطَّالِبُ وَالْمَطْلُوبُ[73]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu duriba mathalun faistamiAAoo lahu inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi lan yakhluqoo thubaban walawi ijtamaAAoo lahu wain yaslubuhumu alththubabu shayan la yastanqithoohu minhu daAAufa alttalibu waalmatloobu

O hommes! Une parabole vous est proposée, écoutez-la: «Ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d'Allah ne sauraient même pas créer une mouche, quand même ils s'uniraient pour cela. Et si la mouche les dépouillait de quelque chose, ils ne sauraient le lui reprendre. Le solliciteur et le sollicité sont [également] faibles!»

O men! Here is a parable set forth! listen to it! Those on whom, besides Allah, ye call, cannot create (even) a fly, if they all met together for the purpose! and if the fly should snatch away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. Feeble are those who petition and those whom they petition!

مَا قَدَرُوا۟ اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَقَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ[74]

Ma qadaroo Allaha haqqa qadrihi inna Allaha laqawiyyun AAazeezun

Ils n'ont pas estimé Allah à sa juste valeur; Allah est certes Fort et Puissant.

No just estimate have they made of Allah: for Allah is He Who is strong and able to Carry out His Will.

اللَّهُ يَصْطَفِى مِنَ الْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلًا وَمِنَ النَّاسِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌ[75]

Allahu yastafee mina almalaikati rusulan wamina alnnasi inna Allaha sameeAAun baseerun

Allah choisit des messagers parmi les Anges et parmi les hommes. Allah est Audient et Clairvoyant.

Allah chooses messengers from angels and from men for Allah is He Who hears and sees (all things).

يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۗ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ[76]

YaAAlamu ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahum waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

Il sait ce qui est devant eux et derrière eux. Et c'est vers Allah que tout retournera.

He knows what is before them and what is behind them: and to Allah go back all questions (for decision).

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ارْكَعُوا۟ وَاسْجُدُوا۟ وَاعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ وَافْعَلُوا۟ الْخَيْرَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ۩[77]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo irkaAAoo waosjudoo waoAAbudoo rabbakum waifAAaloo alkhayra laAAallakum tuflihoona

O vous qui croyez! Inclinez-vous, prosternez-vous, adorez votre Seigneur, et faites le bien. Peut-être réussirez vous!

O ye who believe! bow down, prostrate yourselves, and adore your Lord; and do good; that ye may prosper.

وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ فِى اللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ ۚ هُوَ اجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ ۚ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَٰذَا لِيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ۚ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ الصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ الزَّكَوٰةَ وَاعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ الْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ[78]

Wajahidoo fee Allahi haqqa jihadihi huwa ijtabakum wama jaAAala AAalaykum fee alddeeni min harajin millata abeekum ibraheema huwa sammakumu almuslimeena min qablu wafee hatha liyakoona alrrasoolu shaheedan AAalaykum watakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasi faaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata waiAAtasimoo biAllahi huwa mawlakum faniAAma almawla waniAAma alnnaseeru

Et luttez pour Allah avec tout l'effort qu'Il mérite. C'est Lui qui vous a élus; et Il ne vous a imposé aucune gêne dans la religion, celle de votre père Abraham, lequel vous a déjà nommés «Musulmans» avant (ce Livre) et dans ce (Livre), afin que le Messager soit témoin contre vous, et que vous soyez vous-mêmes témoins contre les gens. Accomplissez donc la Salât, acquittez la Zakât et attachez-vous fortement à Allah. C'est Lui votre Maître. Quel Excellent Maître! Et quel Excellent Soutien!

And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help!
