بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ جَاعِلِ الْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُو۟لِىٓ أَجْنِحَةٍ مَّثْنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَ ۚ يَزِيدُ فِى الْخَلْقِ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ[1]

Alhamdu lillahi fatiri alssamawati waalardi jaAAili almalaikati rusulan olee ajnihatin mathna wathulatha warubaAAa yazeedu fee alkhalqi ma yashao inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Louange à Allah, Créateur des cieux et de la terre, qui a fait des Anges des messagers dotés de deux, trois ou quatre ailes. Il ajoute à la création ce qu'Il veut, car Allah est Omnipotent.

Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things.

مَّا يَفْتَحِ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحْمَةٍ فَلَا مُمْسِكَ لَهَا ۖ وَمَا يُمْسِكْ فَلَا مُرْسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ[2]

Ma yaftahi Allahu lilnnasi min rahmatin fala mumsika laha wama yumsik fala mursila lahu min baAAdihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Ce qu'Allah accorde en miséricorde aux gens, il n'est personne à pouvoir le retenir. Et ce qu'Il retient, il n'est personne à le relâcher après Lui. Et c'est Lui le Puissant, le Sage.

What Allah out of his Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He doth withhold, there is none can grant, apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdom.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ هَلْ مِنْ خَٰلِقٍ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ[3]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum hal min khaliqin ghayru Allahi yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi la ilaha illa huwa faanna tufakoona

O hommes! Rappelez-vous le bienfait d'Allah sur vous: existe-t-il en dehors d'Allah, un créateur qui du ciel et de la terre vous attribue votre subsistance? Point de divinité à part Lui! Comment pouvez-vous vous détourner [de cette vérité]?

O men! Call to mind the grace of Allah unto you! is there a creator, other than Allah, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? There is no god but He: how then are ye deluded away from the Truth?

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ۚ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ[4]

Wain yukaththibooka faqad kuththibat rusulun min qablika waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

Et s'ils te traitent de menteur, certes on a traité de menteurs des Messagers avant toi. Vers Allah cependant, tout est ramené.

And if they reject thee, so were messengers rejected before thee: to Allah back for decision all affairs.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَوٰةُ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ[5]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fala taghurrannakumu alhayatu alddunya wala yaghurrannakum biAllahi algharooru

O hommes! La promesse d'Allah est vérité. Ne laissez pas la vie présente vous tromper, et que le grand trompeur (Satan) ne vous trompe pas à propos d'Allah!

O men! Certainly the promise of Allah is true. Let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver deceive you about Allah.

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَٰنَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا ۚ إِنَّمَا يَدْعُوا۟ حِزْبَهُۥ لِيَكُونُوا۟ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ السَّعِيرِ[6]

Inna alshshaytana lakum AAaduwwun faittakhithoohu AAaduwwan innama yadAAoo hizbahu liyakoonoo min ashabi alssaAAeeri

Le Diable est pour vous un ennemi. Prenez-le donc pour ennemi. Il ne fait qu'appeler ses partisans pour qu'ils soient des gens de la Fournaise.

Verily Satan is an enemy to you: so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his adherents, that they may become Companions of the Blazing Fire.

الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ[7]

Allatheena kafaroo lahum AAathabun shadeedun waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun

Ceux qui ont mécru auront un dur châtiment, tandis que ceux qui croient et accomplissent les bonnes œuvres auront un pardon et une grosse récompense.

For those who reject Allah, is a terrible Penalty: but for those who believe and work righteous deeds, is Forgiveness, and a magnificent Reward.

أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنًا ۖ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ[8]

Afaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi faraahu hasanan fainna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao fala tathhab nafsuka AAalayhim hasaratin inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yasnaAAoona

Eh quoi! Celui à qui on a enjolivé sa mauvaise action au point qu'il la voit belle...? - Mais Allah égare qui Il veut, et guide qui Il veut - Que ton âme ne se répande donc pas en regrets pour eux: Allah est Parfaitement Savant de ce qu'ils fabriquent.

Is he, then, to whom the evil of his conduct is made alluring, so that he looks upon it as good, (equal to one who is rightly guided)? For Allah leaves to stray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So let not thy soul go out in (vainly) sighing after them: for Allah knows well all that they do!

وَاللَّهُ الَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ الرِّيَٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَسُقْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ النُّشُورُ[9]

WaAllahu allathee arsala alrriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fasuqnahu ila baladin mayyitin faahyayna bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha kathalika alnnushooru

Et c'est Allah qui envoie les vents qui soulèvent un nuage que Nous poussons ensuite vers une contrée morte; puis, Nous redonnons la vie à la terre après sa mort. C'est ainsi que se fera la Résurrection!

It is Allah Who sends forth the Winds, so that they raise up the Clouds, and We drive them to a land that is dead, and revive the earth therewith after its death: even so (will be) the Resurrection!

مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ الْكَلِمُ الطَّيِّبُ وَالْعَمَلُ الصَّٰلِحُ يَرْفَعُهُۥ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ يَمْكُرُونَ السَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۖ وَمَكْرُ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُوَ يَبُورُ[10]

Man kana yureedu alAAizzata falillahi alAAizzatu jameeAAan ilayhi yasAAadu alkalimu alttayyibu waalAAamalu alssalihu yarfaAAuhu waallatheena yamkuroona alssayyiati lahum AAathabun shadeedun wamakru olaika huwa yabooru

Quiconque veut la puissance (qu'il la cherche auprès d'Allah) car la puissance tout entière est à Allah: vers Lui monte la bonne parole, et Il élève haut la bonne action. Et quand à ceux qui complotent de mauvaises actions, ils auront un dur châtiment. Cependant, leur stratagème est voué à l'échec.

If any do seek for glory and power,- to Allah belong all glory and power. To Him mount up (all) Words of Purity: It is He Who exalts each Deed of Righteousness. Those that lay Plots of Evil,- for them is a Penalty terrible; and the plotting of such will be void (of result).

وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ۚ وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرٍ وَلَا يُنقَصُ مِنْ عُمُرِهِۦٓ إِلَّا فِى كِتَٰبٍ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ[11]

WaAllahu khalaqakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma jaAAalakum azwajan wama tahmilu min ontha wala tadaAAu illa biAAilmihi wama yuAAammaru min muAAammarin wala yunqasu min AAumurihi illa fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Et Allah vous a créés de terre, puis d'une goutte de sperme, Il vous a ensuite établis en couples. Nulle femelle ne porte ni ne met bas sans qu'Il le sache. Et aucune existence n'est prolongée ou abrégée sans que cela soit consigné dans un livre. Cela est vraiment facile pour Allah.

And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then He made you in pairs. And no female conceives, or lays down (her load), but with His knowledge. Nor is a man long-lived granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a Decree (ordained). All this is easy to Allah.

وَمَا يَسْتَوِى الْبَحْرَانِ هَٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَآئِغٌ شَرَابُهُۥ وَهَٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ ۖ وَمِن كُلٍّ تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا ۖ وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ فِيهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ[12]

Wama yastawee albahrani hatha AAathbun furatun saighun sharabuhu wahatha milhun ojajun wamin kullin takuloona lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoona hilyatan talbasoonaha watara alfulka feehi mawakhira litabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona

Les deux mers ne sont pas identiques: [l'eau de] celle-ci est potable, douce et agréable à boire, et celle-là est salée, amère. Cependant de chacune vous mangez une chair fraîche, et vous extrayez un ornement que vous portez. Et tu vois le vaisseau fendre l'eau avec bruit, pour que vous cherchiez certains [des produits] de Sa grâce. Peut-être serez-vous reconnaissants!

Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike,- the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. Yet from each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the Bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful.

يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِى النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِى الَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِن قِطْمِيرٍ[13]

Yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman thalikumu Allahu rabbukum lahu almulku waallatheena tadAAoona min doonihi ma yamlikoona min qitmeerin

Il fait que la nuit pénètre le jour et que le jour pénètre la nuit. Et Il a soumis le soleil et la lune. Chacun d'eux s'achemine vers un terme fixé. Tel est Allah, votre Seigneur: à Lui appartient la royauté, tandis que ceux que vous invoquez, en dehors de Lui, ne sont même pas maîtres de la pellicule d'un noyau de datte.

He merges Night into Day, and he merges Day into Night, and he has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law): each one runs its course for a term appointed. Such is Allah your Lord: to Him belongs all Dominion. And those whom ye invoke besides Him have not the least power.

إِن تَدْعُوهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ دُعَآءَكُمْ وَلَوْ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا اسْتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمْ ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُونَ بِشِرْكِكُمْ ۚ وَلَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيرٍ[14]

In tadAAoohum la yasmaAAoo duAAaakum walaw samiAAoo ma istajaboo lakum wayawma alqiyamati yakfuroona bishirkikum wala yunabbioka mithlu khabeerin

Si vous les invoquez, ils n'entendent pas votre invocation; et même s'ils entendaient, ils ne sauraient vous répondre. Et le jour du Jugement ils vont nier votre association. Nul ne peut te donner des nouvelles comme Celui qui est parfaitement informé.

If ye invoke them, they will not listen to your call, and if they were to listen, they cannot answer your (prayer). On the Day of Judgment they will reject your "Partnership". and none, (O man!) can tell thee (the Truth) like the One Who is acquainted with all things.

۞ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَنتُمُ الْفُقَرَآءُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْغَنِىُّ الْحَمِيدُ[15]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu antumu alfuqarao ila Allahi waAllahu huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

O hommes, vous êtes les indigents ayant besoin d'Allah, et c'est Allah, Lui qui se dispense de tout et Il est Le Digne de louange.

O ye men! It is ye that have need of Allah: but Allah is the One Free of all wants, worthy of all praise.

إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ[16]

In yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin

S'Il voulait, Il vous ferait disparaître, et ferait surgir une nouvelle création.

If He so pleased, He could blot you out and bring in a New Creation.

وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ[17]

Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin

Et cela n'est point difficile pour Allah.

Nor is that (at all) difficult for Allah.

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۚ وَإِن تَدْعُ مُثْقَلَةٌ إِلَىٰ حِمْلِهَا لَا يُحْمَلْ مِنْهُ شَىْءٌ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰٓ ۗ إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَيْبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ الصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۚ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ[18]

Wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wain tadAAu muthqalatun ila himliha la yuhmal minhu shayon walaw kana tha qurba innama tunthiru allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi waaqamoo alssalata waman tazakka fainnama yatazakka linafsihi waila Allahi almaseeru

Or, personne ne portera le fardeau d'autrui. Et si une âme surchargée [de péchés] appelle à l'aide, rien de sa charge ne sera supporté par une autre même si c'est un proche parent. Tu n'avertis en fait, que ceux qui craignent leur Seigneur malgré qu'ils ne Le voient pas, et qui accomplissent la Salât. Et quiconque se purifie ne se purifie que pour lui-même, et vers Allah est la destination.

Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another's burdens if one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load. Not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other). Even though he be nearly related. Thou canst but admonish such as fear their Lord unseen and establish regular Prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.

وَمَا يَسْتَوِى الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ[19]

Wama yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru

L'aveugle et celui qui voit ne sont pas semblables,

The blind and the seeing are not alike;

وَلَا الظُّلُمَٰتُ وَلَا النُّورُ[20]

Wala alththulumatu wala alnnooru

ni les ténèbres et la lumière,

Nor are the depths of Darkness and the Light;

وَلَا الظِّلُّ وَلَا الْحَرُورُ[21]

Wala alththillu wala alharooru

ni l'ombre et la chaleur ardente.

Nor are the (chilly) shade and the (genial) heat of the sun:

وَمَا يَسْتَوِى الْأَحْيَآءُ وَلَا الْأَمْوَٰتُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَّن فِى الْقُبُورِ[22]

Wama yastawee alahyao wala alamwatu inna Allaha yusmiAAu man yashao wama anta bimusmiAAin man fee alquboori

De même, ne sont pas semblables les vivants et les morts. Allah fait entendre qui Il veut, alors que toi [Muhammad], tu ne peux faire entendre ceux qui sont dans les tombeaux.

Nor are alike those that are living and those that are dead. Allah can make any that He wills to hear; but thou canst not make those to hear who are (buried) in graves.

إِنْ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ[23]

In anta illa natheerun

Tu n'es qu'un avertisseur.

Thou art no other than a warner.

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا ۚ وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ[24]

Inna arsalnaka bialhaqqi basheeran wanatheeran wain min ommatin illa khala feeha natheerun

Nous t'avons envoyé avec la Vérité en tant qu'annonciateur et avertisseur. Il n'est pas une nation qui n'ait déjà eu un avertisseur.

Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past).

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِالزُّبُرِ وَبِالْكِتَٰبِ الْمُنِيرِ[25]

Wain yukaththibooka faqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati wabialzzuburi wabialkitabi almuneeri

Et s'ils te traitent de menteur, eh bien, ceux d'avant eux avaient traité (leurs Messagers) de menteurs, cependant que leurs Messagers leur avaient apporté les preuves, les Ecrits et le Livre illuminant.

And if they reject thee, so did their predecessors, to whom came their messengers with Clear Signs, Books of dark prophecies, and the Book of Enlightenment.

ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ[26]

Thumma akhathtu allatheena kafaroo fakayfa kana nakeeri

Puis J'ai saisi ceux qui ont mécru. Et quelle réprobation fut la Mienne!

In the end did I punish those who rejected Faith: and how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)!

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَٰتٍ مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهَا ۚ وَمِنَ الْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌۢ بِيضٌ وَحُمْرٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٌ[27]

Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi thamaratin mukhtalifan alwanuha wamina aljibali judadun beedun wahumrun mukhtalifun alwanuha wagharabeebu soodun

N'as-tu pas vu que, du ciel, Allah fait descendre l'eau? Puis Nous en faisons sortir des fruits de couleurs différentes. Et dans les montagnes, il y a des sillons blancs et rouges, de couleurs différentes, et des roches excessivement noires.

Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky? With it We then bring out produce of various colours. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, of various shades of colour, and black intense in hue.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ وَالدَّوَآبِّ وَالْأَنْعَٰمِ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ ۗ إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَٰٓؤُا۟ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ غَفُورٌ[28]

Wamina alnnasi waalddawabbi waalanAAami mukhtalifun alwanuhu kathalika innama yakhsha Allaha min AAibadihi alAAulamao inna Allaha AAazeezun ghafoorun

Il y a pareillement des couleurs différentes, parmi les hommes, les animaux, et les bestiaux. Parmi Ses serviteurs, seuls les savants craignent Allah. Allah est, certes, Puissant et Pardonneur.

And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ كِتَٰبَ اللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ الصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً يَرْجُونَ تِجَٰرَةً لَّن تَبُورَ[29]

Inna allatheena yatloona kitaba Allahi waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan yarjoona tijaratan lan taboora

Ceux qui récitent le Livre d'Allah, accomplissent la Salât, et dépensent, en secret et en public de ce que Nous leur avons attribué, espèrent ainsi faire un commerce qui ne périra jamais,

Those who rehearse the Book of Allah, establish regular Prayer, and spend (in Charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a commerce that will never fail:

لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ[30]

Liyuwaffiyahum ojoorahum wayazeedahum min fadlihi innahu ghafoorun shakoorun

afin [qu'Allah] les récompense pleinement et leur ajoute de Sa grâce. Il est Pardonneur et Reconnaissant.

For He will pay them their meed, nay, He will give them (even) more out of His Bounty: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (service).

وَالَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَٰبِ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ لَخَبِيرٌۢ بَصِيرٌ[31]

Waallathee awhayna ilayka mina alkitabi huwa alhaqqu musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi inna Allaha biAAibadihi lakhabeerun baseerun

Et ce que Nous t'avons révélé du Livre est la Vérité confirmant ce qui l'a précédé. Certes Allah est Parfaitement Connaisseur et Clairvoyant sur Ses serviteurs.

That which We have revealed to thee of the Book is the Truth,- confirming what was (revealed) before it: for Allah is assuredly- with respect to His Servants - well acquainted and Fully Observant.

ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا الْكِتَٰبَ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مُّقْتَصِدٌ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌۢ بِالْخَيْرَٰتِ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ[32]

Thumma awrathna alkitaba allatheena istafayna min AAibadina faminhum thalimun linafsihi waminhum muqtasidun waminhum sabiqun bialkhayrati biithni Allahi thalika huwa alfadlu alkabeeru

Ensuite, Nous fîmes héritiers du Livre ceux de Nos serviteurs que Nous avons choisis. Il en est parmi eux qui font du tort à eux-mêmes, d'autres qui se tiennent sur une voie moyenne, et d'autres avec la permission d'Allah devancent [tous les autres] par leurs bonnes actions; telle est la grâce infinie

Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah's leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace.

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ[33]

Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin waluluan walibasuhum feeha hareerun

Les jardins d'Eden où ils entreront, parés de bracelets en or ainsi que de perles; et là, leurs vêtements sont de soie.

Gardens of Eternity will they enter: therein will they be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls; and their garments there will be of silk.

وَقَالُوا۟ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِىٓ أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ ۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ[34]

Waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee athhaba AAanna alhazana inna rabbana laghafoorun shakoorun

Et ils diront: «Louange à Allah qui a écarté de nous l'affliction. Notre Seigneur est certes Pardonneur et Reconnaissant.

And they will say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has removed from us (all) sorrow: for our Lord is indeed Oft-Forgiving Ready to appreciate (service):

الَّذِىٓ أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ الْمُقَامَةِ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ[35]

Allathee ahallana dara almuqamati min fadlihi la yamassuna feeha nasabun wala yamassuna feeha lughoobun

C'est Lui qui nous a installés, par Sa grâce, dans la Demeure de la stabilité, où nulle fatigue, nulle lassitude ne nous touchent».

"Who has, out of His Bounty, settled us in a Home that will last: no toil nor sense of weariness shall touch us therein."

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يُقْضَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَمُوتُوا۟ وَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُم مِّنْ عَذَابِهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى كُلَّ كَفُورٍ[36]

Waallatheena kafaroo lahum naru jahannama la yuqda AAalayhim fayamootoo wala yukhaffafu AAanhum min AAathabiha kathalika najzee kulla kafoorin

Et ceux qui ont mécru auront le feu de l'Enfer: on ne les achève pas pour qu'ils meurent; on ne leur allège rien de ses tourments. C'est ainsi que Nous récompensons tout négateur obstiné.

But those who reject (Allah) - for them will be the Fire of Hell: No term shall be determined for them, so they should die, nor shall its Penalty be lightened for them. Thus do We reward every ungrateful one!

وَهُمْ يَصْطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًا غَيْرَ الَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُعَمِّرْكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَآءَكُمُ النَّذِيرُ ۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ[37]

Wahum yastarikhoona feeha rabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihan ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awalam nuAAammirkum ma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumu alnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Et là, ils hurleront: «Seigneur, fais-nous sortir; nous ferons le bien, contrairement à ce que nous faisions». «Ne vous avons-Nous pas donné une vie assez longue pour que celui qui réfléchit réfléchisse? L'avertisseur, cependant, vous était venu. Et bien, goûtez (votre punition). Car pour les injustes, il n'y a pas de secoureur».

Therein will they cry aloud (for assistance): "Our Lord! Bring us out: we shall work righteousness, not the (deeds) we used to do!" - "Did We not give you long enough life so that he that would should receive admonition? and (moreover) the warner came to you. So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds): for the wrong-doers there is no helper."

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَٰلِمُ غَيْبِ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ[38]

Inna Allaha AAalimu ghaybi alssamawati waalardi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

Allah connaît l'Inconnaissable dans les cieux et la terre. Il connaît le contenu des poitrines.

Verily Allah knows (all) the hidden things of the heavens and the earth: verily He has full knowledge of all that is in (men's) hearts.

هُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِى الْأَرْضِ ۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الْكَٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا مَقْتًا ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الْكَٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلَّا خَسَارًا[39]

Huwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa fee alardi faman kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum AAinda rabbihim illa maqtan wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum illa khasaran

C'est Lui qui a fait de vous des successeurs sur terre. Quiconque mécroit, sa mécréance retombera sur lui. Leur mécréance n'ajoute aux mécréants qu'opprobre auprès de leur Seigneur. Leur mécréance n'ajoute que perte aux mécréants.

He it is That has made you inheritors in the earth: if, then, any do reject (Allah), their rejection (works) against themselves: their rejection but adds to the odium for the Unbelievers in the sight of their Lord: their rejection but adds to (their own) undoing.

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ شُرَكَآءَكُمُ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ كِتَٰبًا فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَتٍ مِّنْهُ ۚ بَلْ إِن يَعِدُ الظَّٰلِمُونَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا[40]

Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran

Dis: «Voyez-vous vos associés que vous invoquez en dehors d'Allah? Montrez-moi ce qu'ils ont créé de la terre. Ont-ils été associés à la création des cieux? Ou leur avons-Nous apporté un Livre qui contienne des preuves [pour ce qu'ils font?]» Non! Mais ce n'est qu'en tromperie que les injustes se font des promesses les uns aux autres.

Say: "Have ye seen (these) 'Partners' of yours whom ye call upon besides Allah? Show Me what it is they have created in the (wide) earth. Or have they a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- Nay, the wrong-doers promise each other nothing but delusions.

۞ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ أَن تَزُولَا ۚ وَلَئِن زَالَتَآ إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا[41]

Inna Allaha yumsiku alssamawati waalarda an tazoola walain zalata in amsakahuma min ahadin min baAAdihi innahu kana haleeman ghafooran

Allah retient les cieux et la terre pour qu'ils ne s'affaissent pas. Et s'ils s'affaissaient, nul autre après Lui ne pourra les retenir. Il est Indulgent et Pardonneur.

It is Allah Who sustains the heavens and the earth, lest they cease (to function): and if they should fail, there is none - not one - can sustain them thereafter: Verily He is Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.

وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ لَئِن جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْ إِحْدَى الْأُمَمِ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا[42]

Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim lain jaahum natheerun layakoonunna ahda min ihda alomami falamma jaahum natheerun ma zadahum illa nufooran

Et ils ont juré solennellement par Allah, que si un avertisseur leur venait, ils seraient certes mieux guidés que n'importe quelle autre communauté. Puis, quand un avertisseur (Muhammad) leur est venu, cela n'a fait qu'accroître leur répulsion,

They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),-

اسْتِكْبَارًا فِى الْأَرْضِ وَمَكْرَ السَّيِّئِ ۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِۦ ۚ فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا ۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللَّهِ تَحْوِيلًا[43]

Istikbaran fee alardi wamakra alssayyii wala yaheequ almakru alssayyio illa biahlihi fahal yanthuroona illa sunnata alawwaleena falan tajida lisunnati Allahi tabdeelan walan tajida lisunnati Allahi tahweelan

par orgueil sur terre et par manœuvre perfide. Cependant, la manœuvre perfide n'enveloppe que ses propres auteurs. Attendent-ils donc un autre sort que celui des Anciens? Or, jamais tu ne trouveras de changement dans la règle d'Allah et jamais tu ne trouveras de déviation dans la règle d'Allah.

On account of their arrogance in the land and their plotting of Evil, but the plotting of Evil will hem in only the authors thereof. Now are they but looking for the way the ancients were dealt with? But no change wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing): no turning off wilt thou find in Allah's way (of dealing).

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى الْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِيمًا قَدِيرًا[44]

Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim wakanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan wama kana Allahu liyuAAjizahu min shayin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi innahu kana AAaleeman qadeeran

N'ont-ils donc jamais parcouru la terre pour voir ce qu'il est advenu de ceux qui vécurent avant eux et qui étaient plus puissants qu'eux? Et rien, dans les cieux ni sur terre ne saurait réduire l'autorité d'Allah. Car Il est certes Omniscient, Omnipotent.

Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them,- though they were superior to them in strength? Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on earth: for He is All-Knowing. All-Powerful.

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللَّهُ النَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِيرًۢا[45]

Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAala thahriha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum fainna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseeran

Et si Allah s'en prenait aux gens pour ce qu'ils acquièrent, Il ne laisserait à la surface [de la terre] aucun être vivant. Mais Il leur donne un délai jusqu'à un terme fixé. Puis quand leur terme viendra... (Il se saisira d'eux) car Allah est Très Clairvoyant sur Ses serviteurs.

If Allah were to punish men according to what they deserve. He would not leave on the back of the (earth) a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: when their Term expires, verily Allah has in His sight all His Servants.
