بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يسٓ[1]

Yaseen

Yâ Sîn.

Ya Sin.

وَالْقُرْءَانِ الْحَكِيمِ[2]

Waalqurani alhakeemi

Par le Coran plein de sagesse.

By the Qur'an, full of Wisdom,-

إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ[3]

Innaka lamina almursaleena

Tu (Muhammad) es certes du nombre des messagers,

Thou art indeed one of the messengers,

عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ[4]

AAala siratin mustaqeemin

sur un chemin droit.

On a Straight Way.

تَنزِيلَ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ[5]

Tanzeela alAAazeezi alrraheemi

C'est une révélation de la part du Tout Puissant, du Très Miséricordieux,

It is a Revelation sent down by (Him), the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful.

لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ[6]

Litunthira qawman ma onthira abaohum fahum ghafiloona

pour que tu avertisses un peuple dont les ancêtres n'ont pas été avertis: ils sont donc insouciants.

In order that thou mayest admonish a people, whose fathers had received no admonition, and who therefore remain heedless (of the Signs of Allah).

لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ[7]

Laqad haqqa alqawlu AAala aktharihim fahum la yuminoona

En effet, la Parole contre la plupart d'entre eux s'est réalisée: ils ne croiront donc pas.

The Word is proved true against the greater part of them: for they do not believe.

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى الْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ[8]

Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihim aghlalan fahiya ila alathqani fahum muqmahoona

Nous mettrons des carcans à leurs cous, et il y en aura jusqu'aux mentons: et voilà qu'ils iront têtes dressées.

We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up (and they cannot see).

وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ[9]

WajaAAalna min bayni aydeehim saddan wamin khalfihim saddan faaghshaynahum fahum la yubsiroona

et Nous mettrons une barrière devant eux et une barrière derrière eux; Nous les recouvrirons d'un voile: et voilà qu'ils ne pourront rien voir.

And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see.

وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ[10]

Wasawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoona

Cela leur est égal que tu les avertisses ou que tu ne les avertisses pas: ils ne croiront jamais.

The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe.

إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ[11]

Innama tunthiru mani ittabaAAa alththikra wakhashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratin waajrin kareemin

Tu avertis seulement celui qui suit le Rappel (le Coran), et craint le Tout Miséricordieux, malgré qu'il ne Le voit pas. Annonce-lui un pardon et une récompense généreuse.

Thou canst but admonish such a one as follows the Message and fears the (Lord) Most Gracious, unseen: give such a one, therefore, good tidings, of Forgiveness and a Reward most generous.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ الْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ[12]

Inna nahnu nuhyee almawta wanaktubu ma qaddamoo waatharahum wakulla shayin ahsaynahu fee imamin mubeenin

C'est Nous qui ressuscitons les morts et écrivons ce qu'ils ont fait [pour l'au-delà] ainsi que leurs traces. Et Nous avons dénombré toute chose dans un registre explicite.

Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence).

وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَٰبَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ[13]

Waidrib lahum mathalan ashaba alqaryati ith jaaha almursaloona

Donne-leur comme exemple les habitants de la cité, quand lui vinrent les envoyés.

Set forth to them, by way of a parable, the (story of) the Companions of the City. Behold!, there came messengers to it.

إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ[14]

Ith arsalna ilayhimu ithnayni fakaththaboohuma faAAazzazna bithalithin faqaloo inna ilaykum mursaloona

Quand Nous leur envoyâmes deux [envoyés] et qu'ils les traitèrent de menteurs. Nous [les] renforçâmes alors par un troisième et ils dirent: «Vraiment, nous sommes envoyés à vous».

When We (first) sent to them two messengers, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you."

قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ[15]

Qaloo ma antum illa basharun mithluna wama anzala alrrahmanu min shayin in antum illa takthiboona

Mais ils [les gens] dirent: «Vous n'êtes que des hommes comme nous. Le Tout Miséricordieux n'a rien fait descendre et vous ne faites que mentir».

The (people) said: "Ye are only men like ourselves; and (Allah) Most Gracious sends no sort of revelation: ye do nothing but lie."

قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ[16]

Qaloo rabbuna yaAAlamu inna ilaykum lamursaloona

Ils [les messagers] dirent: «Notre Seigneur sait qu'en vérité nous sommes envoyés à vous,

They said: "Our Lord doth know that we have been sent on a mission to you:

وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا الْبَلَٰغُ الْمُبِينُ[17]

Wama AAalayna illa albalaghu almubeenu

et il ne nous incombe que de transmettre clairement (notre message)».

"And our duty is only to proclaim the clear Message."

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ[18]

Qaloo inna tatayyarna bikum lain lam tantahoo lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minna AAathabun aleemun

Ils dirent: «Nous voyons en vous un mauvais présage. Si vous ne cessez pas, nous vous lapiderons et un douloureux châtiment de notre part vous touchera».

The (people) said: "for us, we augur an evil omen from you: if ye desist not, we will certainly stone you. And a grievous punishment indeed will be inflicted on you by us."

قَالُوا۟ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ[19]

Qaloo tairukum maAAakum ain thukkirtum bal antum qawmun musrifoona

Ils dirent: «Votre mauvais présage est avec vous-mêmes. Est-ce que (c'est ainsi que vous agissez) quand on vous [le] rappelle? Mais vous êtes des gens outranciers!»

They said: "Your evil omens are with yourselves: (deem ye this an evil omen). If ye are admonished? Nay, but ye are a people transgressing all bounds!"

وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا۟ الْمُرْسَلِينَ[20]

Wajaa min aqsa almadeenati rajulun yasAAa qala ya qawmi ittabiAAoo almursaleena

Et du bout de la ville, un homme vint en toute hâte et dit: «O mon peuple, suivez les messagers:

Then there came running, from the farthest part of the City, a man, saying, "O my people! Obey the messengers:

اتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ[21]

IttabiAAoo man la yasalukum ajran wahum muhtadoona

suivez ceux qui ne vous demandent aucun salaire et qui sont sur la bonne voie.

"Obey those who ask no reward of you (for themselves), and who have themselves received Guidance.

وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ[22]

Wama liya la aAAbudu allathee fataranee wailayhi turjaAAoona

et qu'aurais-je à ne pas adorer Celui qui m'a créé? Et c'est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés.

"It would not be reasonable in me if I did not serve Him Who created me, and to Whom ye shall (all) be brought back.

ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ[23]

Aattakhithu min doonihi alihatan in yuridni alrrahmanu bidurrin la tughni AAannee shafaAAatuhum shayan wala yunqithooni

Prendrais-je en dehors de Lui des divinités? Si le Tout Miséricordieux me veut du mal, leur intercession de me servira à rien et ils ne me sauveront pas.

"Shall I take (other) gods besides Him? If (Allah) Most Gracious should intend some adversity for me, of no use whatever will be their intercession for me, nor can they deliver me.

إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ[24]

Innee ithan lafee dalalin mubeenin

Je serai alors dans un égarement évident.

"I would indeed, if I were to do so, be in manifest Error.

إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ[25]

Innee amantu birabbikum faismaAAooni

[Mais] je crois en votre Seigneur. Ecoutez-moi donc».

"For me, I have faith in the Lord of you (all): listen, then, to me!"

قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ[26]

Qeela odkhuli aljannata qala ya layta qawmee yaAAlamoona

Alors, il [lui] fut dit: «Entre au Paradis». Il dit: «Ah si seulement mon peuple savait!

It was said: "Enter thou the Garden." He said: "Ah me! Would that my People knew (what I know)!-

بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ[27]

Bima ghafara lee rabbee wajaAAalanee mina almukrameena

...en raison de quoi mon Seigneur m'a pardonné et mis au nombre des honorés».

"For that my Lord has granted me Forgiveness and has enrolled me among those held in honour!"

۞ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ[28]

Wama anzalna AAala qawmihi min baAAdihi min jundin mina alssamai wama kunna munzileena

Et après lui Nous ne fîmes descendre du ciel aucune armée. Nous ne voulions rien faire descendre sur son peuple.

And We sent not down against his People, after him, any hosts from heaven, nor was it needful for Us so to do.

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَ[29]

In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum khamidoona

Ce ne fut qu'un seul Cri et les voilà éteints.

It was no more than a single mighty Blast, and behold! they were (like ashes) quenched and silent.

يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ[30]

Ya hasratan AAala alAAibadi ma yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona

Hélas pour les esclaves [les humains]! Jamais il ne leur vient de messager sans qu'ils ne s'en raillent.

Ah! Alas for (My) Servants! There comes not a messenger to them but they mock him!

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ[31]

Alam yaraw kam ahlakna qablahum mina alqurooni annahum ilayhim la yarjiAAoona

Ne voient-ils pas combien de générations avant eux Nous avons fait périr? Lesquelles ne retourneront jamais parmi eux.

See they not how many generations before them we destroyed? Not to them will they return:

وَإِن كُلٌّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ[32]

Wain kullun lamma jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroona

Et tous sans exception comparaîtront devant Nous.

But each one of them all - will be brought before Us (for judgment).

وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ[33]

Waayatun lahumu alardu almaytatu ahyaynaha waakhrajna minha habban faminhu yakuloona

Une preuve pour eux est la terre morte, à laquelle Nous redonnons la vie, et d'où Nous faisons sortir des grains dont ils mangent.

A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat.

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَٰبٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ[34]

WajaAAalna feeha jannatin min nakheelin waaAAnabin wafajjarna feeha mina alAAuyooni

Nous y avons mis des jardins de palmiers et de vignes et y avons fait jaillir des sources,

And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein:

لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ[35]

Liyakuloo min thamarihi wama AAamilathu aydeehim afala yashkuroona

afin qu'ils mangent de Ses fruits et de ce que leurs mains ont produit. Ne seront-ils pas reconnaissants?

That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks?

سُبْحَٰنَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ[36]

Subhana allathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha mimma tunbitu alardu wamin anfusihim wamimma la yaAAlamoona

Louange à Celui qui a créé tous les couples de ce que la terre fait pousser, d'eux-mêmes, et de ce qu'ils ne savent pas!

Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge.

وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ الَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ[37]

Waayatun lahumu allaylu naslakhu minhu alnnahara faitha hum muthlimoona

Et une preuve pour eux est la nuit. Nous en écorchons le jour et ils sont alors dans les ténèbres.

And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness;

وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ[38]

Waalshshamsu tajree limustaqarrin laha thalika taqdeeru alAAazeezi alAAaleemi

et le soleil court vers un gîte qui lui est assigné; telle est la détermination du Tout Puissant, de l'Omniscient.

And the sun runs his course for a period determined for him: that is the decree of (Him), the Exalted in Might, the All-Knowing.

وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ[39]

Waalqamara qaddarnahu manazila hatta AAada kaalAAurjooni alqadeemi

Et la lune, Nous lui avons déterminé des phases jusqu'à ce qu'elle devienne comme la palme vieillie.

And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk.

لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ[40]

La alshshamsu yanbaghee laha an tudrika alqamara wala allaylu sabiqu alnnahari wakullun fee falakin yasbahoona

Le soleil ne peut rattraper la lune, ni la nuit devancer le jour; et chacun vogue dans une orbite.

It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law).

وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ[41]

Waayatun lahum anna hamalna thurriyyatahum fee alfulki almashhooni

Et un (autre) signe pour eux est que Nous avons transporté leur descendance sur le bateau chargé;

And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark;

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ[42]

Wakhalaqna lahum min mithlihi ma yarkaboona

et Nous leur créâmes des semblables sur lesquels ils montent.

And We have created for them similar (vessels) on which they ride.

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ[43]

Wain nasha nughriqhum fala sareekha lahum wala hum yunqathoona

Et si Nous le voulons, Nous les noyons; pour eux alors, pas de secoureur et ils ne seront pas sauvés,

If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered,

إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ[44]

Illa rahmatan minna wamataAAan ila heenin

sauf par une miséricorde de Notre part, et à titre de jouissance pour un temps.

Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ[45]

Waitha qeela lahumu ittaqoo ma bayna aydeekum wama khalfakum laAAallakum turhamoona

Et quand on leur dit: «Craignez ce qu'il y a devant vous et ce qu'il y a derrière vous afin que vous ayez la miséricorde»!...

When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back).

وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ[46]

Wama tateehim min ayatin min ayati rabbihim illa kanoo AAanha muAArideena

Or, pas une preuve ne leur vient, parmi les preuves de leur Seigneur sans qu'ils ne s'en détournent.

Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ[47]

Waitha qeela lahum anfiqoo mimma razaqakumu Allahu qala allatheena kafaroo lillatheena amanoo anutAAimu man law yashao Allahu atAAamahu in antum illa fee dalalin mubeenin

Et quand on leur dit: «Dépensez de ce qu'Allah vous a attribué», ceux qui ont mécru disent à ceux qui ont cru: «Nourrirons-nous quelqu'un qu'Allah aurait nourri s'Il l'avait voulu? Vous n'êtes que dans un égarement évident».

And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)?- Ye are in nothing but manifest error."

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ[48]

Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena

Et ils disent: «A quand cette promesse si vous êtes véridiques?»

Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?"

مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ[49]

Ma yanthuroona illa sayhatan wahidatan takhuthuhum wahum yakhissimoona

Ils n'attendent qu'un seul Cri qui les saisira alors qu'ils seront en train de disputer.

They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves!

فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ[50]

Fala yastateeAAoona tawsiyatan wala ila ahlihim yarjiAAoona

Ils ne pourront donc ni faire de testament, ni retourner chez leurs familles.

No (chance) will they then have, by will, to dispose (of their affairs), nor to return to their own people!

وَنُفِخَ فِى الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ[51]

Wanufikha fee alssoori faitha hum mina alajdathi ila rabbihim yansiloona

Et on soufflera dans la Trompe, et voilà que, des tombes, ils se précipiteront vers leur Seigneur,

The trumpet shall be sounded, when behold! from the sepulchres (men) will rush forth to their Lord!

قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ[52]

Qaloo ya waylana man baAAathana min marqadina hatha ma waAAada alrrahmanu wasadaqa almursaloona

en disant: «Malheur à nous! Qui nous a ressuscités de là où nous dormions?» C'est ce que le Tout Miséricordieux avait promis; et les Messagers avaient dit vrai.

They will say: "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say:) "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the messengers!"

إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ[53]

In kanat illa sayhatan wahidatan faitha hum jameeAAun ladayna muhdaroona

Ce ne sera qu'un seul Cri, et voilà qu'ils seront tous amenés devant Nous.

It will be no more than a single Blast, when lo! they will all be brought up before Us!

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ[54]

Faalyawma la tuthlamu nafsun shayan wala tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona

Ce jour-là, aucune âme ne sera lésée en rien. Et vous ne serez rétribués que selon ce que vous faisiez.

Then, on that Day, not a soul will be wronged in the least, and ye shall but be repaid the meeds of your past Deeds.

إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِى شُغُلٍ فَٰكِهُونَ[55]

Inna ashaba aljannati alyawma fee shughulin fakihoona

Les gens du Paradis seront, ce jour-là, dans une occupation qui les remplit de bonheur;

Verily the Companions of the Garden shall that Day have joy in all that they do;

هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى الْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ[56]

Hum waazwajuhum fee thilalin AAala alaraiki muttakioona

eux et leurs épouses sont sous des ombrages, accoudés sur les divans.

They and their associates will be in groves of (cool) shade, reclining on Thrones (of dignity);

لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ[57]

Lahum feeha fakihatun walahum ma yaddaAAoona

Là ils auront des fruits et ils auront ce qu'ils réclameront,

(Every) fruit (enjoyment) will be there for them; they shall have whatever they call for;

سَلَٰمٌ قَوْلًا مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ[58]

Salamun qawlan min rabbin raheemin

«Salâm» [paix et salut]! Parole de la part d'un Seigneur Très Miséricordieux.

"Peace!" - a word (of salutation) from a Lord Most Merciful!

وَامْتَٰزُوا۟ الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ[59]

Waimtazoo alyawma ayyuha almujrimoona

«O injustes! Tenez-vous à l'écart ce jour-là!

"And O ye in sin! Get ye apart this Day!

۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ الشَّيْطَٰنَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ[60]

Alam aAAhad ilaykum ya banee adama an la taAAbudoo alshshaytana innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

Ne vous ai-Je pas engagés, enfants d'Adam, à ne pas adorer le Diable? Car il est vraiment pour vous un ennemi déclaré,

"Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of Adam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed?-

وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِى ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ[61]

Waani oAAbudoonee hatha siratun mustaqeemun

et [ne vous ai-Je pas engagés] à M'adorer? Voilà un chemin bien droit.

"And that ye should worship Me, (for that) this was the Straight Way?

وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ[62]

Walaqad adalla minkum jibillan katheeran afalam takoonoo taAAqiloona

Et il a très certainement égaré un grand nombre d'entre vous. Ne raisonniez-vous donc pas?

"But he did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did ye not, then, understand?

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ[63]

Hathihi jahannamu allatee kuntum tooAAadoona

Voici l'Enfer qu'on vous promettait.

"This is the Hell of which ye were (repeatedly) warned!

اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ[64]

Islawha alyawma bima kuntum takfuroona

Brûlez-y aujourd'hui, pour avoir mécru».

"Embrace ye the (fire) this Day, for that ye (persistently) rejected (Truth)."

الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ[65]

Alyawma nakhtimu AAala afwahihim watukallimuna aydeehim watashhadu arjuluhum bima kanoo yaksiboona

Ce jour-là, Nous scellerons leurs bouches, tandis que leurs mains Nous parleront et que leurs jambes témoigneront de ce qu'ils avaient accompli.

That Day shall We set a seal on their mouths. But their hands will speak to us, and their feet bear witness, to all that they did.

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا۟ الصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ[66]

Walaw nashao latamasna AAala aAAyunihim faistabaqoo alssirata faanna yubsiroona

Et si Nous voulions, Nous effacerions leurs yeux et ils courront vers le chemin. Mais comment alors pourront-ils voir?

If it had been our Will, We could surely have blotted out their eyes; then should they have run about groping for the Path, but how could they have seen?

وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ[67]

Walaw nashao lamasakhnahum AAala makanatihim fama istataAAoo mudiyyan wala yarjiAAoona

Et si Nous voulions, Nous les métamorphoserions sur place; alors ils ne sauront ni avancer ni revenir.

And if it had been Our Will, We could have transformed them (to remain) in their places; then should they have been unable to move about, nor could they have returned (after error).

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ[68]

Waman nuAAammirhu nunakkishu fee alkhalqi afala yaAAqiloona

A quiconque Nous accordons une longue vie, Nous faisons baisser sa forme. Ne comprendront-ils donc pas?

If We grant long life to any, We cause him to be reversed in nature: Will they not then understand?

وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْءَانٌ مُّبِينٌ[69]

Wama AAallamnahu alshshiAAra wama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrun waquranun mubeenun

Nous ne lui (à Muhammad) avons pas enseigné la poésie; cela ne lui convient pas non plus. Ceci n'est qu'un rappel et une Lecture [Coran] claire,

We have not instructed the (Prophet) in Poetry, nor is it meet for him: this is no less than a Message and a Qur'an making things clear:

لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَٰفِرِينَ[70]

Liyunthira man kana hayyan wayahiqqa alqawlu AAala alkafireena

pour qu'il avertisse celui qui est vivant et que la Parole se réalise contre les mécréants.

That it may give admonition to any (who are) alive, and that the charge may be proved against those who reject (Truth).

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰمًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ[71]

Awalam yaraw anna khalaqna lahum mimma AAamilat aydeena anAAaman fahum laha malikoona

Ne voient-ils donc pas que, parmi ce que Nos mains ont fait, Nous leur avons créé des bestiaux dont ils sont propriétaires;

See they not that it is We Who have created for them - among the things which Our hands have fashioned - cattle, which are under their dominion?-

وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ[72]

Wathallalnaha lahum faminha rakoobuhum waminha yakuloona

et Nous les leur avons soumis: certains leur servent de monture et d'autres de nourriture;

And that We have subjected them to their (use)? of them some do carry them and some they eat:

وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ[73]

Walahum feeha manafiAAu wamasharibu afala yashkuroona

et ils en retirent d'autres utilités et des boissons. Ne seront-ils donc pas reconnaissants?

And they have (other) profits from them (besides), and they get (milk) to drink. Will they not then be grateful?

وَاتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ[74]

Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona

Et ils adoptèrent des divinités en dehors d'Allah, dans l'espoir d'être secourus...

Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped!

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُّحْضَرُونَ[75]

La yastateeAAoona nasrahum wahum lahum jundun muhdaroona

Celles-ci ne pourront pas les secourir, elles formeront au contraire une armée dressée contre eux.

They have not the power to help them: but they will be brought up (before Our Judgment-seat) as a troop (to be condemned).

فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ[76]

Fala yahzunka qawluhum inna naAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona

Que leurs paroles ne t'affligent donc pas! Nous savons ce qu'ils cachent et ce qu'ils divulguent.

Let not their speech, then, grieve thee. Verily We know what they hide as well as what they disclose.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ[77]

Awalam yara alinsanu anna khalaqnahu min nutfatin faitha huwa khaseemun mubeenun

L'homme ne voit-il pas que Nous l'avons créé d'une goutte de sperme? Et le voilà [devenu] un adversaire déclaré!

Doth not man see that it is We Who created him from sperm? yet behold! he (stands forth) as an open adversary!

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ الْعِظَٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌ[78]

Wadaraba lana mathalan wanasiya khalqahu qala man yuhyee alAAithama wahiya rameemun

Il cite pour Nous un exemple, tandis qu'il oublie sa propre création; il dit: «Qui va redonner la vie à des ossements une fois réduits en poussière?»

And he makes comparisons for Us, and forgets his own (origin and) Creation: He says, "Who can give life to (dry) bones and decomposed ones (at that)?"

قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ[79]

Qul yuhyeeha allathee anshaaha awwala marratin wahuwa bikulli khalqin AAaleemun

Dis: «Celui qui les a créés une première fois, leur redonnera la vie. Il Se connaît parfaitement à toute création.

Say, "He will give them life Who created them for the first time! for He is Well-versed in every kind of creation!-

الَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الشَّجَرِ الْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ[80]

Allathee jaAAala lakum mina alshshajari alakhdari naran faitha antum minhu tooqidoona

c'est Lui qui, de l'arbre vert, a fait pour vous du feu, et voilà que de cela vous allumez.

"The same Who produces for you fire out of the green tree, when behold! ye kindle therewith (your own fires)!

أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ الْخَلَّٰقُ الْعَلِيمُ[81]

Awalaysa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda biqadirin AAala an yakhluqa mithlahum bala wahuwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu

Celui qui a créé les cieux et la terre ne sera-t-Il pas capable de créer leur pareil? Oh que si! et Il est le grand Créateur, l'Omniscient.

"Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like thereof?" - Yea, indeed! for He is the Creator Supreme, of skill and knowledge (infinite)!

إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ[82]

Innama amruhu itha arada shayan an yaqoola lahu kun fayakoonu

Quand Il veut une chose, Son commandement consiste à dire: «Sois», et c'est.

Verily, when He intends a thing, His Command is, "be", and it is!

فَسُبْحَٰنَ الَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ[83]

Fasubhana allathee biyadihi malakootu kulli shayin wailayhi turjaAAoona

Louange donc, à Celui qui détient en Sa main la royauté sur toute chose! Et c'est vers Lui que vous serez ramenés.

So glory to Him in Whose hands is the dominion of all things: and to Him will ye be all brought back.
