بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا۟ اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ[1]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuqaddimoo bayna yadayi Allahi warasoolihi waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

O vous qui avez cru! Ne devancez pas Allah et Son messager. Et craignez Allah. Allah est Audient et Omniscient.

O Ye who believe! Put not yourselves forward before Allah and His Messenger; but fear Allah: for Allah is He Who hears and knows all things.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَرْفَعُوٓا۟ أَصْوَٰتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِىِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا۟ لَهُۥ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ أَن تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ[2]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tarfaAAoo aswatakum fawqa sawti alnnabiyyi wala tajharoo lahu bialqawli kajahri baAAdikum libaAAdin an tahbata aAAmalukum waantum la tashAAuroona

O vous qui avez cru! N'élevez pas vos voix au-dessus de la voix du Prophète, et ne haussez pas le ton en lui parlant, comme vous le haussez les uns avec les autres, sinon vos œuvres deviendraient vaines sans que vous vous en rendiez compte.

O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ عِندَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ الَّذِينَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ[3]

Inna allatheena yaghuddoona aswatahum AAinda rasooli Allahi olaika allatheena imtahana Allahu quloobahum lilttaqwa lahum maghfiratun waajrun AAatheemun

Ceux qui auprès du Messager d'Allah baissent leurs voix sont ceux dont Allah a éprouvé les cœurs pour la piété. Ils auront un pardon et une énorme récompense.

Those that lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger,- their hearts has Allah tested for piety: for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ الْحُجُرَٰتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ[4]

Inna allatheena yunadoonaka min warai alhujurati aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona

Ceux qui t'appellent à haute voix de derrière les appartements, la plupart d'entre eux ne raisonnent pas.

Those who shout out to thee from without the inner apartments - most of them lack understanding.

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ[5]

Walaw annahum sabaroo hatta takhruja ilayhim lakana khayran lahum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

Et s'ils patientaient jusqu'à ce que tu sortes à eux ce serait certes mieux pour eux. Allah cependant, est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.

If only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them, it would be best for them: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن جَآءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَإٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ أَن تُصِيبُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بِجَهَٰلَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَٰدِمِينَ[6]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in jaakum fasiqun binabain fatabayyanoo an tuseeboo qawman bijahalatin fatusbihoo AAala ma faAAaltum nadimeena

O vous qui avez cru! Si un pervers vous apporte une nouvelle, voyez bien clair [de crainte] que par inadvertance vous ne portiez atteinte à des gens et que vous ne regrettiez par la suite ce que vous avez fait.

O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.

وَاعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْإِيمَٰنَ وَزَيَّنَهُۥ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الرَّٰشِدُونَ[7]

WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahi law yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina alamri laAAanittum walakinna Allaha habbaba ilaykumu aleemana wazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqa waalAAisyana olaika humu alrrashidoona

Et sachez que le Messager d'Allah est parmi vous. S'il vous obéissait dans maintes affaires, vous seriez en difficultés. Mais Allah vous a fait aimer la foi et l'a embellie dans vos cœurs et vous a fait détester la mécréance, la perversité et la désobéissance. Ceux-là sont les bien dirigés,

And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;-

فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَنِعْمَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ[8]

Fadlan mina Allahi waniAAmatan waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

c'est là en effet une grâce d'Allah et un bienfait. Allah est Omniscient et Sage.

A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا۟ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَإِنۢ بَغَتْ إِحْدَىٰهُمَا عَلَى الْأُخْرَىٰ فَقَٰتِلُوا۟ الَّتِى تَبْغِى حَتَّىٰ تَفِىٓءَ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِن فَآءَتْ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَأَقْسِطُوٓا۟ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ[9]

Wain taifatani mina almumineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahuma fain baghat ihdahuma AAala alokhra faqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafeea ila amri Allahi fain faat faaslihoo baynahuma bialAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena

Et si deux groupes de croyants se combattent, faites la conciliation entre eux. Si l'un d'eux se rebelle contre l'autre, combattez le groupe qui se rebelle, jusqu'à ce qu'il se conforme à l'ordre d'Allah. Puis, s'il s'y conforme, réconciliez-les avec justice et soyez équitables car Allah aime les équitables.

If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just).

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا۟ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ[10]

Innama almuminoona ikhwatun faaslihoo bayna akhawaykum waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona

Les croyants ne sont que des frères. Etablissez la concorde entre vos frères, et craignez Allah, afin qu'on vous fasse miséricorde.

The Believers are but a single Brotherhood: So make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers; and fear Allah, that ye may receive Mercy.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّن قَوْمٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونُوا۟ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَآءٌ مِّن نِّسَآءٍ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُنَّ ۖ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوا۟ بِالْأَلْقَٰبِ ۖ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَٰنِ ۚ وَمَن لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الظَّٰلِمُونَ[11]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonoo khayran minhum wala nisaon min nisain AAasa an yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum wala tanabazoo bialalqabi bisa alismu alfusooqu baAAda aleemani waman lam yatub faolaika humu alththalimoona

O vous qui avez cru! Qu'un groupe ne se raille pas d'un autre groupe: ceux-ci sont peut-être meilleurs qu'eux. Et que des femmes ne se raillent pas d'autres femmes: celles-ci sont peut-être meilleures qu'elles. Ne vous dénigrez pas et ne vous lancez pas mutuellement des sobriquets (injurieux). Quel vilain mot que «perversion» lorsqu'on a déjà la foi. Et quiconque ne se repent pas... Ceux-là sont les injustes.

O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: It may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): Nor let some women laugh at others: It may be that the (latter are better than the (former): Nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (indeed) doing wrong.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ اجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ ۖ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا۟ وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا ۚ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا۟ اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيمٌ[12]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ijtaniboo katheeran mina alththanni inna baAAda alththanni ithmun wala tajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdan ayuhibbu ahadukum an yakula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumoohu waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha tawwabun raheemun

O vous qui avez cru! Evitez de trop conjecturer [sur autrui] car une partie des conjectures est péché. Et n'espionnez pas; et ne médisez pas les uns des autres. L'un de vous aimerait-il manger la chair de son frère mort? (Non!) vous en aurez horreur. Et craignez Allah. Car Allah est Grand Accueillant au repentir, Très Miséricordieux.

O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it... But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَٰكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَىٰكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ[13]

Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna khalaqnakum min thakarin waontha wajaAAalnakum shuAAooban waqabaila litaAAarafoo inna akramakum AAinda Allahi atqakum inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun

O hommes! Nous vous avons créés d'un mâle et d'une femelle, et Nous avons fait de vous des nations et des tribus, pour que vous vous entre-connaissiez. Le plus noble d'entre vous, auprès d'Allah, est le plus pieux. Allah est certes Omniscient et Grand Connaisseur.

O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).

۞ قَالَتِ الْأَعْرَابُ ءَامَنَّا ۖ قُل لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَلَٰكِن قُولُوٓا۟ أَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَٰنُ فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوا۟ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَا يَلِتْكُم مِّنْ أَعْمَٰلِكُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ[14]

Qalati alaAArabu amanna qul lam tuminoo walakin qooloo aslamna walamma yadkhuli aleemanu fee quloobikum wain tuteeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu la yalitkum min aAAmalikum shayan inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Les Bédouins ont dit: «Nous avons la foi». Dis: «Vous n'avez pas encore la foi. Dites plutôt: Nous nous sommes simplement soumis, car la foi n'a pas encore pénétré dans vos cœurs. Et si vous obéissez à Allah et à Son messager, Il ne vous fera rien perdre de vos œuvres». Allah est Pardonneur et Miséricordieux.

The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الصَّٰدِقُونَ[15]

Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi olaika humu alssadiqoona

Les vrais croyants sont seulement ceux qui croient en Allah et en Son messager, qui par la suite ne doutent point et qui luttent avec leurs biens et leurs personnes dans le chemin d'Allah. Ceux-là sont les véridiques.

Only those are Believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and have never since doubted, but have striven with their belongings and their persons in the Cause of Allah: Such are the sincere ones.

قُلْ أَتُعَلِّمُونَ اللَّهَ بِدِينِكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ[16]

Qul atuAAallimoona Allaha bideenikum waAllahu yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Dis: «Est-ce vous qui apprendrez à Allah votre religion, alors qu'Allah sait tout ce qui est dans les cieux et sur la terre?» Et Allah est Omniscient.

Say: "What! Will ye instruct Allah about your religion? But Allah knows all that is in the heavens and on earth: He has full knowledge of all things.

يَمُنُّونَ عَلَيْكَ أَنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ ۖ قُل لَّا تَمُنُّوا۟ عَلَىَّ إِسْلَٰمَكُم ۖ بَلِ اللَّهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ هَدَىٰكُمْ لِلْإِيمَٰنِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ[17]

Yamunnoona AAalayka an aslamoo qul la tamunnoo AAalayya islamakum bali Allahu yamunnu AAalaykum an hadakum lileemani in kuntum sadiqeena

Ils te rappellent leur conversion à l'Islam comme si c'était une faveur de leur part. Dis: «Ne me rappelez pas votre conversion à l'Islam comme une faveur. C'est tout au contraire une faveur dont Allah vous a comblés en vous dirigeant vers la foi, si toutefois vous êtes véridiques».

They impress on thee as a favour that they have embraced Islam. Say, "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me: Nay, Allah has conferred a favour upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if ye be true and sincere.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ[18]

Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ghayba alssamawati waalardi waAllahu baseerun bima taAAmaloona

Allah connaît l'Inconnaissable des cieux et de la terre et Allah est Clairvoyant sur ce que vous faites.

"Verily Allah knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth: and Allah Sees well all that ye do."
