بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ[1]

Sabbaha lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Tout ce qui est dans les cieux et la terre glorifie Allah. Et c'est Lui le Puissant, le Sage.

Whatever is in the heavens and on earth,- let it declare the Praises and Glory of Allah: for He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

لَهُۥ مُلْكُ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ[2]

Lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi yuhyee wayumeetu wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

A Lui appartient la souveraineté des cieux et de la terre. Il fait vivre et il fait mourir, et Il est Omnipotent.

To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He Who gives Life and Death; and He has Power over all things.

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْءَاخِرُ وَالظَّٰهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ[3]

Huwa alawwalu waalakhiru waalththahiru waalbatinu wahuwa bikulli shayin AAaleemun

C'est Lui le Premier et le Dernier, l'Apparent et le Caché et Il est Omniscient.

He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things.

هُوَ الَّذِى خَلَقَ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِى الْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا ۖ وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ[4]

Huwa allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yaAAlamu ma yaliju fee alardi wama yakhruju minha wama yanzilu mina alssamai wama yaAAruju feeha wahuwa maAAakum ayna ma kuntum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

C'est Lui qui a créé les cieux et la terre en six jours puis Il S'est établi sur le Trône; Il sait ce qui pénètre dans la terre et ce qui en sort, et ce qui descend du ciel et ce qui y monte, et Il est avec vous où que vous soyez. Et Allah observe parfaitement ce que vous faites.

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days, and is moreover firmly established on the Throne (of Authority). He knows what enters within the earth and what comes forth out of it, what comes down from heaven and what mounts up to it. And He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah sees well all that ye do.

لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ[5]

Lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

A Lui appartient la souveraineté des cieux et de la terre. Et à Allah tout est ramené.

To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and all affairs are referred back to Allah.

يُولِجُ الَّيْلَ فِى النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِى الَّيْلِ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ[6]

Yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayi wahuwa AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

Il fait pénétrer la nuit dans le jour et fait pénétrer le jour dans la nuit, et Il sait parfaitement le contenu des poitrines.

He merges Night into Day, and He merges Day into Night; and He has full knowledge of the secrets of (all) hearts.

ءَامِنُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَأَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا جَعَلَكُم مُّسْتَخْلَفِينَ فِيهِ ۖ فَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ[7]

Aminoo biAllahi warasoolihi waanfiqoo mimma jaAAalakum mustakhlafeena feehi faallatheena amanoo minkum waanfaqoo lahum ajrun kabeerun

Croyez en Allah et en Son Messager, et dépensez de ce dont Il vous a donné la lieutenance. Ceux d'entre vous qui croient et dépensent [pour la cause d'Allah] auront une grande récompense.

Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend (in charity) out of the (substance) whereof He has made you heirs. For, those of you who believe and spend (in charity),- for them is a great Reward.

وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۙ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ لِتُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ مِيثَٰقَكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ[8]

Wama lakum la tuminoona biAllahi waalrrasoolu yadAAookum lituminoo birabbikum waqad akhatha meethaqakum in kuntum mumineena

Et qu'avez-vous à ne pas croire en Allah, alors que le Messager vous appelle à croire en votre Seigneur? Et [Allah] a déjà pris [acte] de votre engagement si vous êtes [sincères] dans votre foi.

What cause have ye why ye should not believe in Allah?- and the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and has indeed taken your Covenant, if ye are men of Faith.

هُوَ الَّذِى يُنَزِّلُ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦٓ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ لِّيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى النُّورِ ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ[9]

Huwa allathee yunazzilu AAala AAabdihi ayatin bayyinatin liyukhrijakum mina alththulumati ila alnnoori wainna Allaha bikum laraoofun raheemun

C'est Lui qui fait descendre sur Son serviteur des versets clairs, afin qu'il vous fasse sortir des ténèbres à la lumière; et assurément Allah est Compatissant envers vous, et Très Miséricordieux.

He is the One Who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs, that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into the Light and verily Allah is to you most kind and Merciful.

وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تُنفِقُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ لَا يَسْتَوِى مِنكُم مَّنْ أَنفَقَ مِن قَبْلِ الْفَتْحِ وَقَٰتَلَ ۚ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَقَٰتَلُوا۟ ۚ وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ[10]

Wama lakum alla tunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi walillahi meerathu alssamawati waalardi la yastawee minkum man anfaqa min qabli alfathi waqatala olaika aAAthamu darajatan mina allatheena anfaqoo min baAAdu waqataloo wakullan waAAada Allahu alhusna waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun

Et qu'avez-vous à ne pas dépenser dans le chemin d'Allah, alors que c'est à Allah que revient l'héritage des cieux et de la terre? On ne peut comparer cependant celui d'entre vous qui a donné ses biens et combattu avant la conquête... ces derniers sont plus hauts en hiérarchie que ceux qui ont dépensé et ont combattu après. Or, à chacun, Allah a promis la plus belle récompense, et Allah est Grand Connaisseur de ce que vous faites.

And what cause have ye why ye should not spend in the cause of Allah?- For to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

مَّن ذَا الَّذِى يُقْرِضُ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا فَيُضَٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥ وَلَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ[11]

Man tha allathee yuqridu Allaha qardan hasanan fayudaAAifahu lahu walahu ajrun kareemun

Quiconque fait à Allah un prêt sincère, Allah le lui multiplie, et il aura une généreuse récompense.

Who is he that will Loan to Allah a beautiful loan? for (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit, and he will have (besides) a liberal Reward.

يَوْمَ تَرَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَسْعَىٰ نُورُهُم بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَٰنِهِم بُشْرَىٰكُمُ الْيَوْمَ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ[12]

Yawma tara almumineena waalmuminati yasAAa nooruhum bayna aydeehim wabiaymanihim bushrakumu alyawma jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu

Le jour où tu verras les croyants et les croyantes, leur lumière courant devant eux et à leur droite; (on leur dira): «Voici une bonne nouvelle pour vous, aujourd'hui: des Jardins sous lesquels coulent les ruisseaux pour y demeurer éternellement». Tel est l'énorme succès.

One Day shalt thou see the believing men and the believing women- how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands: (their greeting will be): "Good News for you this Day! Gardens beneath which flow rivers! to dwell therein for aye! This is indeed the highest Achievement!"

يَوْمَ يَقُولُ الْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَالْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ انظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِن نُّورِكُمْ قِيلَ ارْجِعُوا۟ وَرَآءَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوا۟ نُورًا فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُم بِسُورٍ لَّهُۥ بَابٌۢ بَاطِنُهُۥ فِيهِ الرَّحْمَةُ وَظَٰهِرُهُۥ مِن قِبَلِهِ الْعَذَابُ[13]

Yawma yaqoolu almunafiqoona waalmunafiqatu lillatheena amanoo onthuroona naqtabis min noorikum qeela irjiAAoo waraakum failtamisoo nooran faduriba baynahum bisoorin lahu babun batinuhu feehi alrrahmatu wathahiruhu min qibalihi alAAathabu

Le jour où les hypocrites, hommes et femmes, diront à ceux qui croient: «Attendez que nous empruntions [un peu] de votre lumière». Il sera dit: «Revenez en arrière, et cherchez de la lumière». C'est alors qu'on éleva entre eux une muraille ayant une porte dont l'intérieur contient la miséricorde, et dont la face apparente a devant elle le châtiment [l'Enfer].

One Day will the Hypocrites- men and women - say to the Believers: "Wait for us! Let us borrow (a Light) from your Light!" It will be said: "Turn ye back to your rear! then seek a Light (where ye can)!" So a wall will be put up betwixt them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be (Wrath and) Punishment!

يُنَادُونَهُمْ أَلَمْ نَكُن مَّعَكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمْ فَتَنتُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتَرَبَّصْتُمْ وَارْتَبْتُمْ وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْأَمَانِىُّ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ[14]

Yunadoonahum alam nakun maAAakum qaloo bala walakinnakum fatantum anfusakum watarabbastum wairtabtum wagharratkumu alamaniyyu hatta jaa amru Allahi wagharrakum biAllahi algharooru

«N'étions-nous pas avec vous?» leur crieront-ils. «Oui, répondront [les autres] mais vous vous êtes laissés tenter, vous avez comploté (contre les croyants) et vous avez douté et de vains espoirs vous ont trompés, jusqu'à ce que vînt l'ordre d'Allah. Et le séducteur [le diable] vous a trompés au sujet d'Allah.

(Those without) will call out, "Were we not with you?" (The others) will reply, "True! but ye led yourselves into temptation; ye looked forward (to our ruin); ye doubted (Allah's Promise); and (your false) desires deceived you; until there issued the Command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you in respect of Allah.

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنكُمْ فِدْيَةٌ وَلَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ مَأْوَىٰكُمُ النَّارُ ۖ هِىَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ[15]

Faalyawma la yukhathu minkum fidyatun wala mina allatheena kafaroo mawakumu alnnaru hiya mawlakum wabisa almaseeru

Aujourd'hui donc, on n'acceptera de rançon ni de vous ni de ceux qui ont mécru. Votre asile est le Feu: c'est lui qui est votre compagnon inséparable. Et quelle mauvaise destination!

"This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah." Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!"

۞ أَلَمْ يَأْنِ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن تَخْشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ وَلَا يَكُونُوا۟ كَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ الْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ[16]

Alam yani lillatheena amanoo an takhshaAAa quloobuhum lithikri Allahi wama nazala mina alhaqqi wala yakoonoo kaallatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablu fatala AAalayhimu alamadu faqasat quloobuhum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona

Le moment n'est-il pas venu pour ceux qui ont cru, que leurs cœurs s'humilient à l'évocation d'Allah et devant ce qui est descendu de la vérité [le Coran]? Et de ne point être pareils à ceux qui ont reçu le Livre avant eux. Ceux-ci trouvèrent le temps assez long et leurs cœurs s'endurcirent, et beaucoup d'entre eux sont pervers.

Has not the Time arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allah and of the Truth which has been revealed (to them), and that they should not become like those to whom was given Revelation aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? For many among them are rebellious transgressors.

اعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُحْىِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ[17]

IAAlamoo anna Allaha yuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha qad bayyanna lakumu alayati laAAallakum taAAqiloona

Sachez qu'Allah redonne la vie à la terre une fois morte. Certes, Nous vous avons exposé les preuves clairement afin que vous raisonniez.

Know ye (all) that Allah giveth life to the earth after its death! already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that ye may learn wisdom.

إِنَّ الْمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَالْمُصَّدِّقَٰتِ وَأَقْرَضُوا۟ اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمْ وَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ كَرِيمٌ[18]

Inna almussaddiqeena waalmussaddiqati waaqradoo Allaha qardan hasanan yudaAAafu lahum walahum ajrun kareemun

Ceux et celles qui font la charité et qui ont fait à Allah un prêt sincère, cela leur sera multiplié et ils auront une généreuse récompense.

For those who give in Charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.

وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الصِّدِّيقُونَ ۖ وَالشُّهَدَآءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ وَنُورُهُمْ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ الْجَحِيمِ[19]

Waallatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi olaika humu alssiddeeqoona waalshshuhadao AAinda rabbihim lahum ajruhum wanooruhum waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina olaika ashabu aljaheemi

Ceux qui ont cru en Allah et en Ses messagers ceux-là sont les grands véridiques et les témoins auprès d'Allah. Ils auront leur récompense et leur lumière, tandis que ceux qui ont mécru et traité de mensonges Nos signes, ceux-là seront les gens de la Fournaise.

And those who believe in Allah and His messengers- they are the Sincere (lovers of Truth), and the witnesses (who testify), in the eyes of their Lord: They shall have their Reward and their Light. But those who reject Allah and deny Our Signs,- they are the Companions of Hell-Fire.

اعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا الْحَيَوٰةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِى الْأَمْوَٰلِ وَالْأَوْلَٰدِ ۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ الْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمًا ۖ وَفِى الْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ ۚ وَمَا الْحَيَوٰةُ الدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ الْغُرُورِ[20]

IAAlamoo annama alhayatu alddunya laAAibun walahwun wazeenatun watafakhurun baynakum watakathurun fee alamwali waalawladi kamathali ghaythin aAAjaba alkuffara nabatuhu thumma yaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yakoonu hutaman wafee alakhirati AAathabun shadeedun wamaghfiratun mina Allahi waridwanun wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

Sachez que la vie présente n'est que jeu, amusement, vaine parure, une course à l'orgueil entre vous et une rivalité dans l'acquisition des richesses et des enfants. Elle est en cela pareille à une pluie: la végétation qui en vient émerveille les cultivateurs, puis elle se fane et tu la vois donc jaunie; ensuite elle devient des débris. Et dans l'au-delà, il y a un dur châtiment, et aussi pardon et agrément d'Allah. Et la vie présente n'est que jouissance trompeuse.

Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: How rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?

سَابِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا كَعَرْضِ السَّمَآءِ وَالْأَرْضِ أُعِدَّتْ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ[21]

Sabiqoo ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wajannatin AAarduha kaAAardi alssamai waalardi oAAiddat lillatheena amanoo biAllahi warusulihi thalika fadlu Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

Hâtez-vous vers un pardon de votre Seigneur ainsi qu'un Paradis aussi large que le ciel et la terre, préparé pour ceux qui ont cru en Allah et en Ses Messagers. Telle est la grâce d'Allah qu'Il donne à qui Il veut. Et Allah est le Détenteur de l'énorme grâce.

Be ye foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden (of Bliss), the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers: that is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom he pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding.

مَآ أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٍ فِى الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ إِلَّا فِى كِتَٰبٍ مِّن قَبْلِ أَن نَّبْرَأَهَآ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ[22]

Ma asaba min museebatin fee alardi wala fee anfusikum illa fee kitabin min qabli an nabraaha inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Nul malheur n'atteint la terre ni vos personnes, qui ne soit enregistré dans un Livre avant que Nous ne l'ayons créé; et cela est certes facile à Allah,

No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah:

لِّكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا تَفْرَحُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ[23]

Likayla tasaw AAala ma fatakum wala tafrahoo bima atakum waAllahu la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin

afin que vous ne vous tourmentiez pas au sujet de ce qui vous a échappé, ni n'exultiez pour ce qu'Il vous a donné. Et Allah n'aime point tout présomptueux plein de gloriole.

In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious boaster,-

الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبُخْلِ ۗ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِىُّ الْحَمِيدُ[24]

Allatheena yabkhaloona wayamuroona alnnasa bialbukhli waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

Ceux qui sont avares et ordonnent aux gens l'avarice. Et quiconque se détourne... Allah Se suffit alors à Lui-même et Il est Digne de louange.

Such persons as are covetous and commend covetousness to men. And if any turn back (from Allah's Way), verily Allah is Free of all Needs, Worthy of all Praise.

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلْنَا مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَٰبَ وَالْمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَنزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأْسٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥ وَرُسُلَهُۥ بِالْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌ[25]

Laqad arsalna rusulana bialbayyinati waanzalna maAAahumu alkitaba waalmeezana liyaqooma alnnasu bialqisti waanzalna alhadeeda feehi basun shadeedun wamanafiAAu lilnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu man yansuruhu warusulahu bialghaybi inna Allaha qawiyyun AAazeezun

Nous avons effectivement envoyé Nos Messagers avec des preuves évidentes, et fait descendre avec eux le Livre et la balance, afin que les gens établissent la justice. Et Nous avons fait descendre le fer, dans lequel il y a une force redoutable, aussi bien que des utilités pour les gens, et pour qu'Allah reconnaisse qui, dans l'Invisible, défendra Sa cause et celle de Ses Messagers. Certes, Allah est Fort et Puissant.

We sent aforetime our messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance (of Right and Wrong), that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help, Unseen, Him and His messengers: For Allah is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might (and able to enforce His Will).

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَٰبَ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مُّهْتَدٍ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ[26]

Walaqad arsalna noohan waibraheema wajaAAalna fee thurriyyatihima alnnubuwwata waalkitaba faminhum muhtadin wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona

Nous avons effectivement envoyé Noé et Abraham et accordé à leur descendance la prophétie et le Livre. Certains d'entre eux furent bien-guidés, tandis que beaucoup d'entre eux furent pervers.

And We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors.

ثُمَّ قَفَّيْنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيْنَا بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ الْإِنجِيلَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ رَأْفَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَرَهْبَانِيَّةً ابْتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبْنَٰهَا عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَّا ابْتِغَآءَ رِضْوَٰنِ اللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوْهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ فَـَٔاتَيْنَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ ۖ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ[27]

Thumma qaffayna AAala atharihim birusulina waqaffayna biAAeesa ibni maryama waataynahu alinjeela wajaAAalna fee quloobi allatheena ittabaAAoohu rafatan warahmatan warahbaniyyatan ibtadaAAooha ma katabnaha AAalayhim illa ibtighaa ridwani Allahi fama raAAawha haqqa riAAayatiha faatayna allatheena amanoo minhum ajrahum wakatheerun minhum fasiqoona

Ensuite, sur leurs traces, Nous avons fait suivre Nos [autres] messagers, et Nous les avons fait suivre de Jésus fils de Marie et lui avons apporté l'Evangile, et mis dans les cœurs de ceux qui le suivirent douceur et mansuétude. Le monachisme qu'ils inventèrent, Nous ne le leur avons nullement prescrit. [Ils devaient] seulement rechercher l'agrément d'Allah. Mais ils ne l'observèrent pas (ce monachisme) comme il se devait. Nous avons donné leur récompense à ceux d'entre eux qui crurent. Mais beaucoup d'entre eux furent des pervers.

Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ اتَّقُوا۟ اللَّهَ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَسُولِهِۦ يُؤْتِكُمْ كِفْلَيْنِ مِن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ نُورًا تَمْشُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ[28]

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha waaminoo birasoolihi yutikum kiflayni min rahmatihi wayajAAal lakum nooran tamshoona bihi wayaghfir lakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

O Vous qui avez cru! Craignez Allah et croyez en Son messager pour qu'Il vous accorde deux parts de Sa miséricorde, et qu'Il vous assigne une lumière à l'aide de laquelle vous marcherez, et qu'Il vous pardonne, car Allah est Pardonneur et Très Miséricordieux.

O ye that believe! Fear Allah, and believe in His Messenger, and He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a Light by which ye shall walk (straight in your path), and He will forgive you (your past): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

لِّئَلَّا يَعْلَمَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَٰبِ أَلَّا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ مِّن فَضْلِ اللَّهِ ۙ وَأَنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ[29]

Lialla yaAAlama ahlu alkitabi alla yaqdiroona AAala shayin min fadli Allahi waanna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAatheemi

Cela afin que les gens du Livre sachent qu'ils ne peuvent en rien disposer de la grâce d'Allah et que la grâce est dans la main d'Allah. Il la donne à qui Il veut, et Allah est le Détenteur de la grâce immense.

That the People of the Book may know that they have no power whatever over the Grace of Allah, that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His Hand, to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. For Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding.
