بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ[1]
AAamma yatasaaloona
Sur quoi s'interrogent-ils mutuellement?
Concerning what are they disputing?
عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ[2]
AAani alnnabai alAAatheemi
Sur la grande nouvelle,
Concerning the Great News,
الَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ[3]
Allathee hum feehi mukhtalifoona
à propos de laquelle ils divergent.
About which they cannot agree.
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ[4]
Kalla sayaAAlamoona
Eh bien non! Ils sauront bientôt.
Verily, they shall soon (come to) know!
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ[5]
Thumma kalla sayaAAlamoona
Encore une fois, non! Ils sauront bientôt.
Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know!
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا[6]
Alam najAAali alarda mihadan
N'avons-Nous pas fait de la terre une couche?
Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,
وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا[7]
Waaljibala awtadan
et (placé) les montagnes comme des piquets?
And the mountains as pegs?
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا[8]
Wakhalaqnakum azwajan
Nous vous avons créés en couples,
And (have We not) created you in pairs,
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا[9]
WajaAAalna nawmakum subatan
et désigné votre sommeil pour votre repos,
And made your sleep for rest,
وَجَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا[10]
WajaAAalna allayla libasan
et fait de la nuit un vêtement,
And made the night as a covering,
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا[11]
WajaAAalna alnnahara maAAashan
et assigné le jour pour les affaires de la vie,
And made the day as a means of subsistence?
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا[12]
Wabanayna fawqakum sabAAan shidadan
et construit au-dessus de vous sept (cieux) renforcés,
And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments,
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا[13]
WajaAAalna sirajan wahhajan
et [y] avons placé une lampe (le soleil) très ardente,
And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour?
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا[14]
Waanzalna mina almuAAsirati maan thajjajan
et fait descendre des nuées une eau abondante
And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance,
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا[15]
Linukhrija bihi habban wanabatan
pour faire pousser par elle grains et plantes
That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables,
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا[16]
Wajannatin alfafan
et jardins luxuriants.
And gardens of luxurious growth?
إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا[17]
Inna yawma alfasli kana meeqatan
Le Jour de la Décision [du Jugement] a son terme fixé.
Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed,
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا[18]
Yawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fatatoona afwajan
Le jour où l'on soufflera dans la Trompe, vous viendrez par troupes,
The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds;
وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا[19]
Wafutihati alssamao fakanat abwaban
et le ciel sera ouvert et [présentera] des portes,
And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors,
وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا[20]
Wasuyyirati aljibalu fakanat saraban
et les montagnes seront mises en marche et deviendront un mirage.
And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage.
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا[21]
Inna jahannama kanat mirsadan
L'Enfer demeure aux aguets,
Truly Hell is as a place of ambush,
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا[22]
Lilttagheena maaban
refuge pour les transgresseurs.
For the transgressors a place of destination:
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا[23]
Labitheena feeha ahqaban
Ils y demeureront pendant des siècles successifs.
They will dwell therein for ages.
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا[24]
La yathooqoona feeha bardan wala sharaban
Ils n'y goûteront ni fraîcheur ni breuvage,
Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا[25]
Illa hameeman waghassaqan
Hormis une eau bouillante et un pus
Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold,
جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا[26]
Jazaan wifaqan
comme rétribution équitable.
A fitting recompense (for them).
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا[27]
Innahum kanoo la yarjoona hisaban
Car ils ne s'attendaient pas à rendre compte,
For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds),
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا[28]
Wakaththaboo biayatina kiththaban
et traitaient de mensonges, continuellement, Nos versets,
But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false.
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًا[29]
Wakulla shayin ahsaynahu kitaban
alors que Nous avons dénombré toutes choses en écrit.
And all things have We preserved on record.
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا[30]
Fathooqoo falan nazeedakum illa AAathaban
Goûtez-donc. Nous n'augmenterons pour vous que le châtiment!
"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment."
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا[31]
Inna lilmuttaqeena mafazan
Pour les pieux ce sera une réussite:
Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart's) desires;
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا[32]
Hadaiqa waaAAnaban
jardins et vignes,
Gardens enclosed, and grapevines;
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا[33]
WakawaAAiba atraban
et des (belles) aux seins arrondis, d'une égale jeunesse,
And voluptuous women of equal age;
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا[34]
Wakasan dihaqan
et coupes débordantes.
And a cup full (to the brim).
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا[35]
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala kiththaban
Ils n'y entendront ni futilités ni mensonges.
No vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth:-
جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا[36]
Jazaan min rabbika AAataan hisaban
A titre de récompense de ton Seigneur et à titre de don abondant
Recompense from thy Lord, a gift, (amply) sufficient,
رَّبِّ السَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا[37]
Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma alrrahmani la yamlikoona minhu khitaban
du Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui existe entre eux, le Tout Miséricordieux; ils n'osent nullement Lui adresser la parole.
(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between, (Allah) Most Gracious: None shall have power to argue with Him.
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا[38]
Yawma yaqoomu alrroohu waalmalaikatu saffan la yatakallamoona illa man athina lahu alrrahmanu waqala sawaban
Le jour où l'Esprit et les Anges se dresseront en rangs, nul ne saura parler, sauf celui à qui le Tout Miséricordieux aura accordé la permission, et qui dira la vérité.
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and He will say what is right.
ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا[39]
Thalika alyawmu alhaqqu faman shaa ittakhatha ila rabbihi maaban
Ce jour-là est inéluctable. Que celui qui veut prenne donc refuge auprès de son Seigneur.
That Day will be the sure Reality: Therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) return to his Lord!
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا[40]
Inna antharnakum AAathaban qareeban yawma yanthuru almaro ma qaddamat yadahu wayaqoolu alkafiru ya laytanee kuntu turaban
Nous vous avons avertis d'un châtiment bien proche, le jour où l'homme verra ce que ses deux mains ont préparé; et l'infidèle dira: «Hélas pour moi! Comme j'aurais aimé n'être que poussière».
Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near, the Day when man will see (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say, "Woe unto me! Would that I were (metre) dust!"
