بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ[1]
Waylun lilmutaffifeena
Malheur aux fraudeurs
Woe to those that deal in fraud,-
الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ[2]
Allatheena itha iktaloo AAala alnnasi yastawfoona
qui, lorsqu'ils font mesurer pour eux-mêmes exigent la pleine mesure,
Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure,
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ[3]
Waitha kaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroona
et qui lorsqu'eux-mêmes mesurent ou pèsent pour les autres, [leur] causent perte.
But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due.
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ[4]
Ala yathunnu olaika annahum mabAAoothoona
Ceux-là ne pensent-ils pas qu'ils seront ressuscités,
Do they not think that they will be called to account?-
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ[5]
Liyawmin AAatheemin
en un jour terrible,
On a Mighty Day,
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَٰلَمِينَ[6]
Yawma yaqoomu alnnasu lirabbi alAAalameena
le jour où les gens se tiendront debout devant le Seigneur de l'Univers?
A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds?
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ[7]
Kalla inna kitaba alfujjari lafee sijjeenin
Non...! Mais en vérité le livre des libertins sera dans le Sijjîn -
Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin.
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ[8]
Wama adraka ma sijjeenun
et qui te dira ce qu'est le Sijjîn? -
And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is?
كِتَٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ[9]
Kitabun marqoomun
Un livre déjà cacheté (achevé).
(There is) a Register (fully) inscribed.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ[10]
Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena
Malheur, ce jour-là, aux négateurs,
Woe, that Day, to those that deny-
الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ[11]
Allatheena yukaththiboona biyawmi alddeeni
qui démentent le jour de la Rétribution.
Those that deny the Day of Judgment.
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ[12]
Wama yukaththibu bihi illa kullu muAAtadin atheemin
Or, ne le dément que tout transgresseur, pécheur:
And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner!
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ[13]
Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena
qui, lorsque Nos versets lui sont récités, dit: «[Ce sont] des contes d'anciens!»
When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!"
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ[14]
Kalla bal rana AAala quloobihim ma kanoo yaksiboona
Pas du tout, mais ce qu'ils ont accompli couvre leurs cœurs.
By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do!
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ[15]
Kalla innahum AAan rabbihim yawmaithin lamahjooboona
Qu'ils prennent garde! En vérité ce jour-là un voile les empêchera de voir leur Seigneur,
Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled.
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ الْجَحِيمِ[16]
Thumma innahum lasaloo aljaheemi
ensuite, ils brûleront certes, dans la Fournaise;
Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell.
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ[17]
Thumma yuqalu hatha allathee kuntum bihi tukaththiboona
on [leur] dira alors: «Voilà ce que vous traitiez de mensonge!»
Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false!
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ[18]
Kalla inna kitaba alabrari lafee AAilliyyeena
Qu'ils prennent garde! Le livre des bons sera dans l'Illiyûn -
Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin.
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ[19]
Wama adraka ma AAilliyyoona
et qui te dira ce qu'est l'Illiyûn? -
And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is?
كِتَٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ[20]
Kitabun marqoomun
un livre cacheté!
(There is) a Register (fully) inscribed,
يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ[21]
Yashhaduhu almuqarraboona
Les rapprochés [d'Allah: les Anges] en témoignent.
To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah).
إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ[22]
Inna alabrara lafee naAAeemin
Les bons seront dans [un Jardin] de délice,
Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss:
عَلَى الْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ[23]
AAala alaraiki yanthuroona
sur les divans, ils regardent.
On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things):
تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ[24]
TaAArifu fee wujoohihim nadrata alnnaAAeemi
Tu reconnaîtras sur leurs visages, l'éclat de la félicité.
Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss.
يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ[25]
Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoomin
On leur sert à boire un nectar pur, cacheté,
Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed:
خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ[26]
Khitamuhu miskun wafee thalika falyatanafasi almutanafisoona
laissant un arrière-goût de musc. Que ceux qui la convoitent entrent en compétition [pour l'acquérir]
The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations:
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ[27]
Wamizajuhu min tasneemin
Il est mélangé à la boisson de Tasnîm,
With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim:
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ[28]
AAaynan yashrabu biha almuqarraboona
source dont les rapprochés boivent.
A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ[29]
Inna allatheena ajramoo kanoo mina allatheena amanoo yadhakoona
Les criminels riaient de ceux qui croyaient,
Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed,
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ[30]
Waitha marroo bihim yataghamazoona
et, passant près d'eux, ils se faisaient des œillades,
And whenever they passed by them, used to wink at each other (in mockery);
وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ[31]
Waitha inqalaboo ila ahlihimu inqalaboo fakiheena
et, retournant dans leurs familles, ils retournaient en plaisantant,
And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting;
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ[32]
Waitha raawhum qaloo inna haolai ladalloona
et les voyant, ils disaient: «Ce sont vraiment ceux-là les égarés».
And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!"
وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ[33]
Wama orsiloo AAalayhim hafitheena
Or, ils n'ont pas été envoyés pour être leurs gardiens.
But they had not been sent as keepers over them!
فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ[34]
Faalyawma allatheena amanoo mina alkuffari yadhakoona
Aujourd'hui, donc, ce sont ceux qui ont cru qui rient des infidèles
But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers:
عَلَى الْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ[35]
AAala alaraiki yanthuroona
sur les divans, ils regardent.
On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things).
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ[36]
Hal thuwwiba alkuffaru ma kanoo yafAAaloona
Est-ce que les infidèles ont eu la récompense de ce qu'ils faisaient?
Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did?
