بِّسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ[1]

Waaltteeni waalzzaytooni

Par le figuier et l'olivier!

By the Fig and the Olive,

وَطُورِ سِينِينَ[2]

Watoori seeneena

Et par le Mont Sînîn!

And the Mount of Sinai,

وَهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ[3]

Wahatha albaladi alameeni

Et par cette Cité sûre!

And this City of security,-

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ[4]

Laqad khalaqna alinsana fee ahsani taqweemin

Nous avons certes créé l'homme dans la forme la plus parfaite.

We have indeed created man in the best of moulds,

ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَٰهُ أَسْفَلَ سَٰفِلِينَ[5]

Thumma radadnahu asfala safileena

Ensuite, Nous l'avons ramené au niveau le plus bas,

Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,-

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ الصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ[6]

Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati falahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin

sauf ceux qui croient et accomplissent les bonnes œuvres: ceux-là auront une récompense jamais interrompue.

Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing.

فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ[7]

Fama yukaththibuka baAAdu bialddeeni

Après cela, qu'est-ce qui te fait traiter la rétribution de mensonge?

Then what can, after this, contradict thee, as to the judgment (to come)?

أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَٰكِمِينَ[8]

Alaysa Allahu biahkami alhakimeena

Allah n'est-Il pas le plus sage des Juges?

Is not Allah the wisest of judges?
