بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ[1]

Qul aAAoothu birabbi alfalaqi

Dis: «Je cherche protection auprès du Seigneur de l'aube naissante,

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ[2]

Min sharri ma khalaqa

contre le mal des êtres qu'Il a créés,

From the mischief of created things;

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ[3]

Wamin sharri ghasiqin itha waqaba

contre le mal de l'obscurité quand elle s'approfondit,

From the mischief of Darkness as it overspreads;

وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى الْعُقَدِ[4]

Wamin sharri alnnaffathati fee alAAuqadi

contre le mal de celles qui soufflent [les sorcières] sur les nœuds,

From the mischief of those who practise secret arts;

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ[5]

Wamin sharri hasidin itha hasada

et contre le mal de l'envieux quand il envie».

And from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy.
