بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ[1]

Qul aAAoothu birabbi alnnasi

Dis: «Je cherche protection auprès du Seigneur des hommes.

Say: I seek refuge with the Lord and Cherisher of Mankind,


مَلِكِ النَّاسِ[2]

Maliki alnnasi

Le Souverain des hommes,

The King (or Ruler) of Mankind,


إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ[3]

Ilahi alnnasi

Dieu des hommes,

The god (or judge) of Mankind,-


مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ[4]

Min sharri alwaswasi alkhannasi

contre le mal du mauvais conseiller, furtif,

From the mischief of the Whisperer (of Evil), who withdraws (after his whisper),-


الَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ النَّاسِ[5]

Allathee yuwaswisu fee sudoori alnnasi

qui souffle le mal dans les poitrines des hommes,

(The same) who whispers into the hearts of Mankind,-


مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ[6]

Mina aljinnati wa alnnasm

qu'il (le conseiller) soit un djinn, ou un être humain».

Among Jinns and among men.
