Tragic End By The Quija?

This is my second experience with a Ouija board. I had just married my husband, and it was during Halloween. It took place at his grandmother's house, during a family gathering. I was 16 at this time, I know I was young. Three of his female cousins and one aunt (she is our age) as well decided to play just for fun. I already knew better and had decided to sit next to them instead of playing. They all sat on the bed with the Ouija in the middle of them. My husband stood in the doorway, as I stood behind one of the cousins. My husband decided to dim the light, as they began the questions. The first question they asked, was the typical question, is anyone here with us? The planchette moved slowly toward the yes. They started laughing believing it had been one of them slightly moving the planchette. So the next cousin asks a question, and I'm not sure what she asked or what the answer was. But the next question asked is what still has my memory in pause. The aunt who was at that time engaged, asked a personal question. She asked, Will I get married to the man I'm engaged to? Immediately "NO", pops in my head. I look down as the planchette starts circling, in a rapid pace, then suddenly jerks to two letters that spelled No. Then jerks to the goodbye. His aunt jumped up, and started saying the board was just a game, and was highly upset at her nieces. She literally thought they had been toying with her. All the while we all fell silent and looked at each other in shock. I was terrified. Soon after we all forgot about the board game, and continued our lives. The next holiday came and we all were together again, and started talking about the Halloween incident. We all admitted to being truly freaked out, and the cousins still held to their truth. Around a couple weeks after that Thanksgiving, the aunt and her fiancee were in a terrible car wreck. She barely made it out, having broken both hips and several other broken bones. And her fiance died instantly, never making it away from the scene. They were due to marry in February of the next year. Only a few short months away. To this day, she won't talk about the Ouija board experience, nor will any of us.

Great Grandfather's Visit

When I was little, my Grandmother threw Halloween parties for my sister, cousin, and I. My Great Grandfather never missed one, or any other family occasion, for that matter. Anyway, when I was in Kindergarten, he passed away. He was in his seventies. It was a very sad time for our family. At his funeral, I felt something. It was as if I was being watched. I don't know if any other family members experienced this because I never asked. I still believe it was him... Back to the Halloween parties. He loved them so much. He practically had as much fun as us kids had. When I was in first grade, the creepy stuff started. It was almost a year after he died, about 10 months. Two days before Halloween my Grandmother threw her party. My cousin wasn't born yet, so it was my sister, a friend from across the street, and I. All of us felt very uneasy at the party. Here's the really freaky thing- my gram got the pictures developed, and in 2 photos, was his figure. In one you could make out his face. This really freaked me out and my sister and friend kept teasing me about it. It took us about 4 months, until February, to come up with a conclusion for the strange happenings. We all decided it was him paying a visit from the beyond.

My Friends Violet And Irene

When I was younger, my friends and I were messing around one Halloween night, and we decided to have a séance to see if we could contact any spirits. The first spirit we contacted was named Violet. She was a 9-year-old girl who longed for friends in the "human world". My friends and I spent time talking with her and learned a lot about her. At one point, to get our attention, Violet even tapped the Ouija Board after we had stopped using it (mind you, none of us was near it). We became close friends with her and still remain in contact with her today. The next day, we were so excited about contacting Violet that my friends made their own Ouija Boards, and we discovered that we all have ghosts following us. Some of the spirits we contacted, like Manny, turned out to be not as friendly as led us to believe. They kept tricking us into believing that they were other ghosts, and saying rude things to us. We told them not to follow us, and finally when they agreed we found new, nicer ghosts. One of the nicer spirits was Irene. She was 22 when she died. Some of the things she liked to do included rock climbing and volleyball. Although I've never been rock climbing, I am on a volleyball team and I found it helpful, and sometimes a little distracting, to have her with me. Once she even stopped a ball dead in its tracks to let me know she was there supporting me. Irene and I have become like sisters and I look forward to our friendship together.

The Roof Top Voice

This is an experience in Megget, South Carolina. I was at a friend's house and we were sitting on the roof. My friend, Victoria, and I were sitting on the roof of her home listening to the sounds of the Halloween festival about a five minute drive away. She was talking about how she'd been experiencing strange things at her house and I didn't believe her. I knew she liked her stories and her imagination. We were talking about how we were going to get down from the roof to go to the festival when she started complaining that she was cold. Now this is a person that loves to complain, yes, she is one of those "rich people." I was kind of irritated that she was complaining about being cold and told her to hurry up and get a sweater, which she did and then asked to borrow my cell phone. I was completely baffled and handed it to her. She brought up the recorder on it and I was now on the verge of exasperation. I believe in ghosts and spirits, I've been called a "sensitive" and stuff before. Now before I discredit her, I did get "vibes" from this place. I knew it had something in it, but again, Victoria was being obsessive over it. Now back to her with my cell. She began recording and she started just asking random questions, I began getting bad vibes and told her to give me my phone back. After a good five-minute recording she did give it back and begged me to play it back. I opened the file up and let her listen to it on speaker. At first, it was just her talking, then static started slipping in and whispering started coming in. By this time she was holding onto my arm panicking. A distinctive voice came after a while, "Get off the damn roof before I get you off myself!" Well, we kind of jumped into the window and slammed it shut. We decided against sneaking off that night and we laid out my sleeping bag and sat up and talked for awhile. Victoria wanted to listen to the recording again and I reached for the place where my phone had been. I was shocked to find it was... gone? I had set it down right next to me, so I got up and shuffled through a few things. Victoria was muttering something about "The ghost has it..." I got the feeling she was right and pretty much cursed my luck. We were giving one more attempt to look for the phone, checking the window sill and sticking our heads out of the window to check to see if maybe I'd dropped it outside. No luck. So we sat back down and my back was to the window. Now I can only describe what I feel when the paranormal's around as "vibes" because its not really a solid feeling, mostly just a sensation. But I was getting bad vibes from the windows, so I shut all of the curtains except for the ones behind me. She sat down across from me and after about five minutes began staring at the window behind me. The vibes had been growing, so I was nervous to turn around. When I did there was a shadowy figure looking in at us, but it was silvery, not black, so it wasn't a burglar. She finally screamed and I shut the curtains and told her that we should go to bed since it was getting late. When we woke up, we opened the curtains and I went to the bathroom to change and brush my teeth. When I came out, she went in. I asked her if she'd checked for my cell phone again, she nodded and said she'd pay for a new one. I was mad because I'd have to explain to my dad that I'd lost my birthday gift after a month. I don't know why I checked the window sill again, but I did. My phone was sitting just on the outside of it with a dead battery. I'd charged it the day before and it usually could last a good four days on two bars of battery life. Needless to say, I was happy to have the phone back and left the house as soon as my mom came to pick me up. Victoria's invited me over several more times... but I don't go there often.

Strange And Paranormal

On the night of Halloween my house burnt down, so my family and I moved in with my step-dads mom. The house we moved in was built in the early 70's. It had this haunting feel to it. There was one room no one ever would go in and it was the attic, it was refinished and everything. Living here some very odd and paranormal stuff has been happening. I could feel something watching me all the time no matter if I was alone or with all of my family. One night at 9:00 I was in the shower, with the heater on and no windows were open and the bathroom door was shut, I had my eyes closed while I was washing my face all of a sudden I felt this cold rush go past me, it sent a cold chill up my back, even though it was very hot in there. I'm a very heavy sleeper, but at 2:00 am I suddenly woke up, it was in the room with me, I felt it there, it was so cold in my room. Then three days later the same thing happened and at the same time. Then two weeks later my friend was over and I had told her about all of this, so we decided to go to the attic, we slowly walked up the stairs and opened the door this cold rush of air came pouring out and we heard a roaring sound like a growl. I talked to my mother about this and she said that she had heard footsteps from upstairs while she was alone. I can't piece all of this stuff together.

The Underwood Devil?

I have seen the devil, I think. It's going to sound strange I know, but this really happened to me. When I was young, about 10 years old, I was with my grandmother driving all around town looking for some Halloween costume and was having a problem locating a store with anything worth a damn. Finally we settled for a local K-Mart store. We bought my costume and were heading home, then my grandmother said she was going to stop for a pizza at the local Pizza Hut. That was cool with me, I was starving. So we pulled into the parking lot of the Pizza Hut and my grandma told me to wait here and not get out of the car because it was dark. Back then everyone was left in the car, I guess? So in she went. I was OK just listening to the radio when something caught my attention to the right just behind the Pizza Hut. The area was wooded and dark, just as it is to this day. All but this strange red glow inside this cove of trees. I was now taken in by the bright flickering light and watched in amazement as the light took on the form of flames, sparks and finally took on a human form. Well, almost human. It looked more like electricity "lightning" and it started to dance and jump around in some super fast unnatural way. It looked like a very thin red creature "the devil." This will sound corny, but I swear it looked like that damn Underwood Deviled Ham devil. You know, the one on the can. This was real. Suddenly the thing was at my window just looking at me as if to say, "I know you see me and I see you." Man, I crawled over the seat into the back, cowering on the floorboard until my grandma came out and had to calm me down. It took her awhile but she finally got through to me and I came around, then we went home. I told her what happened to me and she got mad and told me I should not speak of such things. But I tell you I was not a troubled kid with a big imagination, or crazy. This just happened to me, just something I was meant to see. This goes a lot further as I got older. I am now 40 years old and it still freaks me out, but it feels good to finally tell someone else about it. Thanks for your time. Oh yeah, the Pizza Hut is still there, as is the wooded area behind it, so if you ever want to have a look maybe you will get lucky and have a show put on for yourself.

What Was On The Rail road Tracks?

This happened to my husband back in 2007 on Halloween night of all days. My husband called me to tell me as soon as it happened and it's been boggling his mind ever since. He works for the railroad and one night while on the train going south he and his engineer passed through a small county (between San Antonio and Laredo), something he's done for 5 years when something caught their attention. Up ahead on the tracks my husband saw someone lying on the tracks, which is pretty typical (suicides, drunks, etc) and he told the engineer to slam on the brakes. The engineer saw the guy too and so he pulled the emergency brakes but of course, it takes about a mile for a train going 70mph to slow down. What they both saw was an older man with a beard who was lying on his side facing the train. When the man saw the train as it got close he put up both his hands in a defensive manner and he had a frightened look on his face. Well, before they knew it they slammed into the guy and the train finally stopped. My husband and the engineer were shaken up and my husband called his manager to tell them what happened; he told them to call the local authorities, and state troopers, etc. Well, everyone showed up and when they looked under the train nothing. There was nothing at all. My husband and the engineer were embarrassed because everyone was there to investigate and there was nothing under the train. They swore that they ran over the guy because they heard the thumping sounds as the train kept going. They walked back to the point of impact and there was nothing. No blood, no clothes, shoes, etc. They called in the K9s and he couldn't pick up a scent. If they had hit someone and he ran off, there would have been blood or something or I'm sure he wouldn't have gone far anyway. The local cops were like, "oh, a while back a bunch of kids were throwing mannequins off this bridge so it was probably a mannequin." But it was impossible because of what they saw. So, who knows what happened that night. My husband isn't much of a believer and he isn't frightened by anything like this or ghost stories, but it makes you wonder.
