Khan Academy allows you to learn almost anything for free. Our Firefox OS app is the best way to view Khan Academy’s complete library of over 5,000 videos and articles on your Firefox OS device. We cover a massive number of topics, including K-12 math, science topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics, and even the humanities with playlists on art history, civics, and finance. Spend an afternoon brushing up on statistics. Discover how the Krebs cycle works. Learn about the fundamentals of computer science. Prepare for the upcoming SAT. Or, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, learn how fire stick farming changed the landscape of Australia. Included in our Firefox OS app:

  • Watch all of our 5,000+ videos.

  • Track your progress: Log in with your Khan Academy user account to get credit for watching videos, and see your achievements.
  • Downloadable videos: take individual videos or entire playlists to watch offline at your own pace.
  • Subtitles: follow along, skip ahead, or go back by navigating through subtitles.
  • Fully localized content, chrome and subtitles for English, French, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish, Turkish, and Bengali (partial).
  • Ability to set the playback speed to slower or faster than the normal speed.
  • VideoJS player which shows buffering, current time, total time, and has an inline volume slider.

Release Notes:
VideoJS video player is being used instead of the stock video player. This gives several new advantages including:

  • Better playback
  • Displays current buffering progress
  • Shows amount of time played and amount of time total in the video
  • Has a volume control in landscape mode
  • Video player colors now match the domain color
New languages were added:
  • Turkish
  • Bengali (partial)
Other features:
  • Playback speed slider can be used to set the player speed at 50%, 100%, 150% or 200% of normal speed.
  • Reset button used to revert back to default settings
  • Updated all default installed topic trees
