Visual RSS feed reader with intelligence. NewsBlur is like Google Reader, but it has three distinct advantages: 1) Shows the original site (you have to see it to believe it) 2) Hides stories you don't want to read based on tags, keywords, authors, etc. 3) Highlights stories you want to read, based on the same criteria. It's a very original take on RSS feed reading. It's also being built by a sole indie developer as open-source software: http://github.com/samuelclay. It's freemium, with premium accounts costing $12/year for unlimited feeds, faster updates, and access to future features like the iPhone app. NewsBlur supports sending to Instapaper, River of News, and many other standard RSS reader features.
